I've seen that too, but some deaf people text their way on their sidekick while driving too, I don't, I pull over to a parking lot and type away if it's an emergency, If it's not an emergency they can hold their pants.
When I tell them I'm deaf, their respond would be "Oh I'm sorry" and then walks off.
So, of course, I politely reminded her that I didn't need a pamphlet with the braille on it.

Hearing doesn't require to drive, Deaf people can drive, no matter if you can't hear. Didn't you know that Deaf people are better drivers than hearing people? (No offense, hearies)
Yeah, that's is just so annoying, wasn't it? But I was glad when a young woman, were talking to me in relation of some work, I told her that I was deaf, she didn't walk away, she went over to my desk and found a piece of paper and a pen and wrote what she was asking me earlier and the end it went smoothly.
Everyone has pretty much covered the lists of what ticks us off.
In addition to this, I was also encountered with a question that threw me off for a moment. This happened to me twice, not once but twice.
"Would you like this in braille?"
I was boarding my connecting flight from Atlanta to SF, California and the stewardess asked me if I wanted to have something to read. Without thinking of what would come next, I said yeah it'd be fine to have something to read. The stewardess walked away and returned to me with a pamphlet that has braille on it. I was like, WTF??
The other incident was -- I was at McDonald ordering something from the menu and I requested for a pen/paper. The cashier gave me a menu which also was in braille. *shakes my head*
it was such a stupid way to word it.
and asked the person NEXT TO ME! 
I could have helped her if she took 5 seconds to repeat what she said!
My deaf friend had a baby last November (oh so cute, not the point though hehe) but they sent her a letter saying her baby "passed" the (standard) hearing test.. I told her
I hate people who ignore OBVIOUS signs (aka a sign i have to let them know I am deaf) and then get all pissy faced with me when I don't reply.
I hate how people who have "deaf" children (hoh actually) and claim they understand how I feel about specific situations.
and eventually they found out why. The hospital was scared to release their babies under their care thinking that they wouldnt know how to take care of their babies due to their deafness. One of my friends said she was so terrified that the social worker would misunderstand her and declare them unfit parents and not let them bring their baby home. My other friend said she hit the ceiling and threatened a lawsuit.
Speaking of babies...two of my deaf friends had their babies around 7 to 10 years ago. They have deaf husbands...they told me that the hospital called social workers to talk to them after they had their babies. They were
Can u believe that? These mothers just had their babies and they are tired, emotional, and excited by the special moment only to get it ruined! They cant cherish their children's births without thinking about the social workers. I was shocked.
yes I have heard them telling me, U can drive and deliver the mails? what make them think deaf can not drive and how do deaf making living without driving? grrr.#1 annoying all time - 'Can deaf drive?"
For me, one of worst and dumb questions I ever get:
After they write something then hand note to me.."Can you read and write?"
