What do you agree that Sex-offender parents pose dilemma for schools?

You know..............what percentage of sex offenders are dangerous? Everyone always thinks that sex offenders equal child molsters or rapists, but there are folks who are "sex offenders" who urinated in public (redicious...besides its good for the earth), streakers, and other mild "offenses" Why I bet in some Bible Belt states there are sex offenders who are guilty of nothing more then being gay.

Yes< I have contacted them and they told me from the Ohio Innocence Project that they dont do juvenile cases. They only look into adult cases as of right now, but that it may change sometime in the near future. They also said that my son's case sounded like a civil rights case and that I should contact civil rights lawyers. Which I have to no avail. Any other suggestions would be much welcomed.

It's not hard to recongnize the difference between real predator/sex offender and innoncent predator/sex offender. Is it hard for you?

I didn't ask you to evaluate my predator radar. I asked you to please tell me how to tell a "real" predator from an "innocent" predator. If you don't accept the courts' decisions as to who is "real" then how do you know the difference? What criteria do you use?

If you say, "it's not hard to recognize the difference" then please share with me how you do that.

(sigh) there are pro and con about sex-offender parents. I have friend who is sex-offender and he rec'd 2nd chance and is on parole for almost 8 years and soon to be release from parole. However, he shared with me how he feel about people looking at him like he is different person. I told him that what he did is wrong. I am not looking at him as judgmental but hope he won't re-offend anyone. However, he did the right thing when his daughter complained to him about her teacher was talking cheap and sex to his daughter (she is 8 years old.) He and his wife taught their children about sex thing, his experiences and stuff like that. That is how his daughter noticed about her teacher. Anyway he reported to school board but sad to tell you that the board didn't take his comment and concern lightly just because of his past. So he decided to gather the parents of her classmates and shared his concerns to parents. Happy to report that parents have concerns about teacher's language toward children. Board decided to take this situation and learned that Teacher had been sexual-harassing to students and tried to tell students about their life-style in order to grooming students. But that man with past had save the students and got teacher arrested and serve 7 years in prison for harassing on public ground and posses of pictures of students in his personal computer. That was happened last year. So There are pro and con. The con is that there are some teachers in school that are pervert enough to look at children. So i don't know if school do their job to protect from sex-offender while non-sex offenders are around our children without school protection on the students. That is difficult thing. (sigh)

These language sounds like those from chat-room. I will not let my daughter and cousins use computer for chat room at all until they are old enough and mature enough.

The way I look at your situation, I find it disturbin' - to me, almost all schools are tryin' to break up the family and make the parents to divorce. The schools are lookin' for the blame and faults upon the parents when they question their students in class about anythin' that related to " sex " or " abuse ". The students ( from elementary to high schools ) are very vulnerable and the teachers knew about it. The students are easily target.

I don't think the schools have the rights to question the students about " home ". The schools are supposed to be TEACHIN' about history, math, geography, sewin', and all that the students NEED to know how before they could face the world after they graduate. It's about LIFE out there, not at home. I think it is time for schools to quit dumb down on kids.

The schools don't own the kids/students. They are owned by their parents who gave birth. It's the parents' rights to complaint and find the faults to sue. It's the parents' rights to know EVERYTHIN' what is goin' on in the classes. It's the parents' rights to know what the teachers give out the survey papers to students in classes as well.

The schools have no rights to take the parents' rights away. The students are KIDS who belonged to the parents. Period.

If, the teachers call his/her " students " - then, what does that suppose to be means ? TEACHIN', right ? It's the teachers' job to teach about history, math, sewin', geography, and all that so, the students will know what to expect when they face the world via career/job.

If, the teachers call his/her students " kids " - then, what does that suppose to be means ? Whose are their parents ? Of course, it's their parents' kids, not teachers'.

It´s very scary to destory student´s life like that because of harmless hug and kisses. I have read the article somewhere last summer that a student (I can´t remember how age) are being suspend and label as sex offender because he gave some students harmless hug and kiss. It´s normal for everyone to say this... It doesn´t mean that they are sex predator because they like children´s hair. They did said to me in the past because they like my hair and ask me how do I take care of my hair - which shampoo, I use? I gave them what they want to know... No problem..

Those are examples of cases that were posted. I wanted to know how you can tell whether or not an adult attending a school meeting is a "real" sexual predator.

I guess the confusion is in using the terms "real predator/sex offender" and "innoncent predator/sex offender". If someone is a predator or sex offender, then he or she is not "innocent". Also, not all "real" predators and sex offenders have been caught and convicted so in the eyes of the law, they are not guilty. I know that's confusing.

Let me restate my question.

Suppose you are attending a school meeting. Can you recognize which parents in the room are sexual predators? If a sexual predator says that he was wrongly convicted, how do you know he is telling the truth?

If your boys go on a trip, can you tell which counselors or leaders are sexual predators? If a sexual predator says he was innocent, that some boys lied about him, how do you know he is telling the truth?

If a man moves in next door to your house, how do you know if he is a convicted sexual predator? What if he says he was in jail for several years as a predator but he's OK now? How do you know he's telling the truth?

So, how do you know if someone really is a predator or is not a predator?

Yes, that is difficult. We can watch out for the registered sex offenders because we know who they are and where they are.
