Perhaps.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Many times people don't pay attention to what checkboxes are checked by default. This is one way how companies sneak programs that have nothing to do with their program that an user wants to download.

I have not ever liked McAfee. I personally like Kaspersky.

I've heard of that one. I'll stick with AVG, Lookout Antivirus, and Bitdefender.

Idk.. If you think all or most elderly people are bitter than i guess you have not apend enough time with at least one. Them been lonely can explain a lot of the bitterness... I could be wrong but still.

If people actually took the time to visit senior citizens like I did with my own Grandma back in the 1990's, that time spent will cheer them up considerably.

For the umpteenth time, I don't use absolute quantifiers unless it is warranted. Not all elderly, indeed, are bitter, grumpy, or [insert whatever else adjective you wish to use]. The fact is that as one gets older, the more they think about death that is looming. This is only natural.

I have used AVG, but it has some limitations.

That's why I added Lookout Antivirus-- to be on the safe side.

I don't have any antivirus programs. pointless.

I still disagree with that comment very much.... Death os in everyone minds not only on the elderly and it is not exact what would make them bitter. Well in some cases yes..

A lot of elderly people are grouchy and grumpy because they have a negative outlook on their life. They believe they have regrets.

I find that sad that you actually believe this. Instead of thinking they're "grouchy and grumpy" maybe think of it as they are lonely, in pain, feel a little lost. Elderly people experience a lot of changes, losing their independence is a big one. "Negative outlook" "they believe they have regrets"
For someone who thinks they know it all about everything you have no friggin clue.

Agreed. Isn't that sterotyping senior citizens?

I'll go out on a limb and say you are using a MAC OS based computer. Am I right? :hmm:

You can plainly see it in their face and their emotions tells it all. Elderly people do have regrets when they look back on their long life as they have plenty of time during the day to retrospect on their life. Like I said earlier, not all elderly people have that mindset.

Well, some of the ADers are older than you and me, and I'm pretty sure they find those comments offensive, and possibly certain younger ones, too. You need to tread carefully when you comment.

I am pretty aware of that, Mark. I made my comments in such a way as it does not speak of a specific elderly one who is a member of AD or speaks of elderly people as a whole. This is why I don't use absolute quantifiers.

Maybe, but you're still pushing it-- there are some who DON'T have regrets-- many of them have had a long full life full of happiness and satisfaction. This is where you need to watch yourself.

Mark, this is why I told you I don't use absolute quantifiers. Yes, there are some elderly folks who still have a sense of happiness and satisfaction. So move on.

Anyway, today, I learned Venus Williams has been eliminated from the Sony Open tournament by Dominika Cibulkova. Serena needs to be eliminated next.

You need to watch yourself too Mark you've been here about 4 months and still a n00b it's not your place to tell others what or how to do something or that they are pushing it so back off a little if someone needs to be fussed at that's the mods job NOT yours. PERIOD.

Where are all these elderly people who have a life filled with regrets? The ones I know have amazing stories, travels, experiences. The ones I spend time with are proud of their accomplishments, children, grandchildren etc. If you sit and actually spend some quality time with them, they will teach you so much. I actually have never met an elderly person with regrets, I truly mean that. I have met elderly people that are sad at times, they miss their spouse, children don't take the time to go visit, they are in physical pain etc. It really does not take much to brighten their day. Next time you see a "grumpy" elderly person.....instead of assuming they have regrets.....ask them how their day was.

Just because you don't see any elderly people with regrets it doesn't mean there absolutely aren't any elderly people who have regrets. I have known elderly people who had regrets.

I know that.

Always trying to get the last word in? :laugh2:

Nope. That's not my place to do that-- I'll stay out of that department.

People have regrets in life. It doesnt matter the age. But yeah... Just because someone is old does not mean they are bitter because of that. As angel said it can be because they are lonely or auch. Sit down and talk with an elderly person. What may seem as a "bitter" person could transform in front of your eyes into a kind and maybe very lonely person. Or someone who is simply sad. But even then not all the elserly are sad and lonely. Heck some of them are more happy in life than younger people.
