What did you learn today?

That I can vote in next month's mayoral election, now that my voting registration has been updated and I have received the card.

I learned (yesterday) that my hearing aids might be more effective if I get ear molds. That will be the next step in my hearing loss evolution.
I know little about the ear mold style. Will this become a problem with phone conversations?

I learned that one of my friends is a basketball coach for the Delaware School for the Deaf. I'm a little envious.

Well, you won't be able to put the phone over the ear opening, but up by the mics on the hearing aid. If you have t-coil, that should help. I use a ComPilot (streamer) with my Phonaks. If your hearing aids are not compatible with a streamer specific to your HA brand, and you have t-coil, you can buy a bluetooth t-coil neckloop.

Cool. DSD is near me. I went there for community ASL classes a while ago.

Yeah. They have basketball games tonight and tomorrow. She and I are communicating via text, but that's an awesome job, though.

What Love Blue said. I just set my aids to telecoil and place the phone in the area of my hearing aid, sort of toward the back of your head(if you have a behind the ear aid) not at your ear opening.

I have one of the Bluetooth devices for my cellphone but that won't help answering a phone at work.
What is a Tcoil?

Telecoil: http://www.hearingloss.org/sites/default/files/docs/HLAA_Telecoil_Brochure.pdf

Unfortunately, many audis don't bother telling clients about it and may of the small hearing aids don't have them (not enough space). You'll need to check with your audi to see if you have it and if it's programmed or can be programmed.

I had something at my last job that would hook up to my office phone and bluetooth to me. Let me see if I can find info about it for you. Of course, it will depend on your work phone. Plus, this is something your work should provide for you (ADA).

This is what I had at work.

And this is where I learned about these: http://hearingaidforums.com/

I learn that my hubby's college buddies ( close buddies). half of them got CI already and half of them are in process of getting CI and few of them dont have CI but HA. It does make sense to me that they all are deaf oral even though they do sign PSE/ASL. Awesome.

Today I learned the signs for Chocolate & Ice Cream. Yay! :giggle:

I learned my poodle mix likes drinking from a water bottle and is pretty good at it.

Too bad Jerry won't be there to perform. [emoji25]

No. However, they ARE making a tribute to him, so it should be interesting to see what they've come up with. I'm not too familiar with music, but I DO know that this group was one of the most popular-- and still are. His death had an impact on the industry, and I was surprised that he had such an impact then.
