They usually do. It's to get a better understanding of how things were between then before the events earlier tonight. Of course, what they gather can either be admissible or not in court. Really depends on what they find out.

According to the news, she admitted to the crime. When I get on my cpu , I will post the article here as I am not sure how to copy and paste on the iPAD.

He has always been wonderful to us...helped build our deck and so many more. She always had the erratic behaviors. During the blizzards of '10, she went out in the middle of the street in her nightgown trying to shovel all the snow while it was still coming down in torrents. Then, she got sent away to rehab and for the past 4 years things have been normal until now. Wonder if she relapsed.

I will find out more but my heart breaks for him because he has been devoted to her. They have been married for like 30 years now and she had bypass surgery before we moved here, lost the weight but she became addicted to the pain meds. Then she has been struggling with her addictions u til 4 years ago when she got clean so that's why I am shocked. I still don't know much so I will refrain from making any assumptions until we know more...just horrible.

ah... that kinda makes it easier for you guys.... you're close to the guy... not the woman. and she's the crazy one...

shame that this is happening to a nice guy...

I do. What you do is go to the link, and press on that with your finger to highlight it. It should offer you the choice to copy it. I do that often with my phone, as it has Internet on it. I just hope I'm giving you the correct advice.

When she was struggling, we always called him whenever she came out of the house acting erratic. Always looked out for her safety. Same with the old lady across the street. We bacame used to it and things have been quiet for 4 years so we forgot what it was like when thing we're crazy on this street ( only 5 houses) on this block so we pretty much look out for each other.

She is only 49 and I am almost 43 but she looks at least 20 years older than I do. Her husband is definitely youthful looking. He has always bailed her out of jail before so I wonder if he will leave her in jail this time. This is going to be the big news on my block in the next few days big time. I just feel bad because he really is devoted to her even after all the crap she has put him though. He is a good guy. She just had the bad luck of getting addicted to prescription meds after her surgery and it escalated from there but I swore she finally was clean for at least 4 years since returning from rehab. Wow...

nope. not likely.

She has been arrested a few times before...for forgery to get fake prescriptions, due, and who knows what else. This is serious s:$@.) now.

I know IL has a law on attempted murders. People who attempt to kill others don't get off easily here. Let me bring that up.

no need. Prosecutor has a discretion to lay a charge or not. in this case.... it's very unlikely that it'll come to that point. she'll probably be committed to mental ward for some time.

With her history, I am sure she will be at this point. The neighborhood liquor store where my hubby used to work part time Had a notice stating not to serve her. It had her picture but that was years ago. My husband quit the job 2 years ago so not sure if the notice is still there's or not but she has a history that this community is totally well aware of so it is probably time.

I hope so. She's better off there than in jail. Only problem is, will the prosecution allow it? Reminds me of that case in Texas where they're trying to execute a mentally unstable prisoner, until it got stayed.

I think a drug rehab would a better place for her , a mental ward will just give her more drugs to get hooked on.

All I care is that the husband gets support from us and doesn't feel so ashamed nor alone. How do we show that? " I am sorry" doesn't seem enough. Also by pretending, we are clueless when it is all over the news is lame. Any ideas?

I suspect that her addiction may have altered her state of mind, but I could be wrong here. No need to jump to conclusions here, so let's wait until all the details are in first.

I have one possible idea. How about something he'd like to do to relieve stress? And maybe a group outing for support?

compassionate. understanding. non-judgmental. most importantly... just sit and listen.

no pretending.
