What did you learn today? Part II

Right now, my brother cant really walk and had to lie down with his let upright and knee iced. Got some swelling...oh boy.

He stepped over a gap in the hiking trail and then when he stepped on a rock that he thought was secure, the rock came loose causing him to fall through the gap. Hiking in unchartered paths in Sedona is very very risky.

I learn people get very angry at me when they phone my work and I don't answer phone. Three people today come very mad into office yelling and waving hands. I lipread they say "Middle of work day!" and "Inconvenient to come here because you too lazy answer phone". Not my fault office girl on holiday! Not my fault boss think I keep office open by myself. Not my fault I deaf! Not my fault you can't sign or understand what I sign!

Today I make a sign on yellow paper with black felt marker that say "I'm deaf, yell all you like". I hold it up three times. Think today Rude People Day.

at my work - at first... people would keep calling my office and I don't answer the phone instead of emailing me. so what did I do? I disconnected the phone and chucked it. Since then... they started emailing me and/or coming down to my office :)

so it's You-Accommodate-Me Day.
 
btw Sunny - what do you do for work? is it a company or...?

Perhaps being "retired" makes it easier to interact DEAF.?

I misunderstood. Last night, watching national news, I meant 65,000 thousand diagnosed skin cancer. Around 8,000 a yr die in US from skin cancer due to sun and tanning beds. A woman has skin cancer from tanning beds and still tanning b/c she said it is very addicting. :eek:
 
I learned my company used my picture in an advertisement in a magazine Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology. Yes, they had permission to use my picture, I just didn't know about this one until yesterday.
 
Learned that my ex hubby lied about my daughter's dental bill. So furious but glad I found out the truth. Geez...why cant things just be simple with him?
 
I have issues on bad on stress on sleep oh my gosh 48 hours 0_o crazy!

Why would he lie? It's a bill so what's the big deal?

Just read in other thread! I was thinking opposite.. He lied to get more money! Ugh! That sucks!
 
I am learning that I really dislike living with other people. The guy I am renting a room from accused me of going into his room and breaking something. I told him I didn't go in his room and got no reason to go into his room. He all but said I am lying. Today while we were talking, he asked me who else could have gone and I said either I or your daughter and I know I didn't go in the room. He then said his daughter couldn't have broken it. Ugh!!

When I move out of here, I am gonna live on my own from now on unless I reconcile with my wife.

People sure make life so difficult!!!
