What did you learn today? Part II

Man, you guys start early!! I'll be a great-aunt (by marriage) come September, and hope to be a great-aunt (by blood) sometime in the next couple years. It's nice being an aunt - lots of the fun and none of the responsibilities of actually raising the li'l rug-rats.

Well, it helps that my brother is 11 years older than I am and that my big sister is 8 years older than me.

I had no aunts and uncles because both of my parents were only children. However, my grandparents had brothers and sisters.. I only knew two of my Grandmother Price's sisters, my great aunts Helen and Ruth. My niece is named after my great aunt Helen.

ah. I've been an aunt since I was 14.

Yep. My brother was quite a bit older than me, and he and his first wife married at 18 and had a baby by 20. So I started with the aunt stuff at age
9. The good part is that we have always been really, really close. More like brothers and sister. Now that they have their families, I will probably become a great, great aunt before I become a granny. My oldest neice is 21. The greats run from age 21 to age 5, believe it or not!:giggle:

he he I believe it. None of my nieces or nephews have kids but I have no doubt they'll produce or et married before I'm 50.

My oldest neice is 29. She'll be 30 next month. My oldest newphew is 27 or 28..

One of my brothers became an uncle at 3 years old.

I just found out that I didn't get my blood sugar meds so I will have to go back to CVS and as for it again. I got all my other meds. :pissed:

I had a neighbor when I was a kid, who had a neice and nephew older than she was.

They called her their pocket aunt.

Hehe, I became an aunt at 4 years old. Now my eldest niece is 24 to my 28.

First became an great aunt three years ago. :)

Now when I have kids, I can get my nieces and nephews to babysit them

I left the fucking car lights on and now my car battery is dead!

Oh, that sucks!!! I hate that some cars have the dinging bell for when you leave the lights on. They need a visual reminder as well. I have done this on so many occasions that I now leave bright neon green nail polish on the switch for the lights. It stands out so much I see it and notice that it isn't right and remember to turn off the lights.

I think I"ll paint my light knob a bright pink with nail polish.

Hey - I learned today that 2 people from my deaf church are willing to critique videos I make of signing. One person is deaf and likes to help people learn, the other is a CODA and Certified Interpreter. The CODA suggested I use Lou Fant's American Sign Language Phrase Book (I have the old one, she suggested I get the revised one) and video-tape myself doing the signs in order from the book. Giver her a flash drive with the videos and she will critique them and let me know what I need to do. The other lady is offering to help me with signs while at church.
