I have 32 bit windows 7 installed and gateway computer. If I install a driver from the canon website and it still won't work like the clerk suggested, I am going back to best buy and if they refuse to refund me i will need to stop payment as I need to be able to upload images for business.

If they force me to wait 14 days for refund I will simply stop payment and then refuse to do business with it again.

There's no driver for this camera software so I will simply go back and ask for refund. If he gives me trouble, I'm asking for manager for help.

Which exact camera do you have? Canon does not tell me enough to have a chance of helping. Canon makes many, many different models!

I pulled this page from the Best Buy web site. Is it one of the ones shown here?

It's irrelevant now. I found the page for my camera model on the Canon website and there's no driver for windows 7 for the model that I bought.

I got the refund and I got a new customer service person who was much better than the last guy this time around.. Software wouldn't install in the first place]/u] no matter what resolution I had.

There's a driver for 64 bit Windows 7 but not for 32 bit Windows 7 and that's the OS I have,
 
Just learned that my brothers girlfriends cousin whom she is close to was killed in a car accident today by an aggressive driver slamming into him.

i can help my sister I am support adjust to my sister i am heav bear overhwelming to heavy crazy pretty increase over and over I do it strong encourage to offer to my sister otherwise I focuse advise to my niece and nephew i tell honest wisdom I support to my siste don`t want lose depression I support on my family wisdom!i she happy my sister for proud of me! she resolve happy I hope be tough family hard management emotional!

I don't know what type camera you have. I never install the Canon software, I just plug the USB cable in and proceed to manually copy the files from the camera to where I want them. You may need to set your camera communications settings from "normal" to "PTP".

Or use a card reader.

If you use 32-bit windows 7, chances are the driver is auto supplied or you can get it from windows update on the web. But yeah, I too have not used a camera's editing software ever since the first generation of digital cameras.. serial ports and their madness.

I agree with Cheetah's method, it is the most straightforward but if you want to edit the photos you may want to invest in a program. One great free alternative is Paint.NET.

Either way I hope the return process works well for you, deafskeptic. You are always more than welcome to ask around for assistance. Look at Cheetah -- he's giving you a hand out here! ;)

HMM Naisho, could the Paint.NET be useful for some work on say, hockey logos to darken them (like black and white) for printing out (for personal use only, not to sell) and anything else? Could I be able to download that free program and play with that and see if it fits me better than the Paintbrush program I have?
 
As most of you know, I have been deaf for 8 months. I lost all of my hearing over night due to an illness. We just got a call from my ear specialist. They got most of the test results back and have now said I AM a canidate for CI. Now I am really confused. All along they have been telling me that I was not a canidate so I dealt with that. I am afraid to have surgery again. Also worried that my brain problems could get worse. I know I do not need to do it right of way, but they are saying the results are better if you do it sooner rather than later since the brain still remembers sounds. If I knew for sure that having this surgery would help with all these noises and headaches I might consider it. For me at least I always seem to be in that low percentage of what can go wrong with a surgery. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My suggestion, take your time. There is no need to rush into this. If you need more time before another operation then by all means take the time. Under no circumstance do you agree to the CI until you have come to terms with it and are sure you are ready.

I have a CI and I took nearly 2 years before deciding to proceed. There will be little if any risk to waiting. In fact I am starting the process for a second CI next month. The hardest part is the fact that everyone that gets a CI has a different experience. You will never get a good idea of what to expect until the surgery is done and some time has passed for you to become acclimated with the CI.

When you are ready, not before.
 
Angle, if you're late deafened, I don't think taking some time to fully research and think about your decision will matter. You may ask yourself why the specialist is pressuring you. The specialist may be drumming up business. Take the time you need to make a good decision. Each person is different.

Thanks Cheetah, I know you have headaches. Did the CI help with this and the noises. That at this time, would be my only reason to go forward with it. I respond poorly with surgery. After the long hospital stay and scare I just can not think about going through all that again. For almost a week now I have not been able to lift my head off my pillow without severe headache and getting nauseous. I just want to get better and start living again. I wish there was an easy answer.

Both you and Cheetah have a point. BTW, I checked drivers for a camera that I plan to buy today provided that pain is not too severe like it was yesterday. I spent most of the day in the ER due to pain. The new camera's driver is compaitable with windows 32 and it also has a good track record of being Linux friendly. My printer isn't Linux friendly and I found this out the hard way when I tried to get printer to print via Linux. Print came out all wrong on Linux.

I have Photoshop CS 4 (Not CS as i thought at first.) and I will use that to edit pixs if necessary.

Yep, Sharky it's free. It's very similar to Photoshop but the difference is that it costs nothing. :)

You'd be able to do those things you mentioned. It might take work with the feather/masking tool if you need a 100% perfect image.
