I got up went to my first gathering, had to unload 2 egg carts and stack the flats, walked the house on the left as my aunt wasn't there yet and I had to place my washers at the end of the belt. No big deal. Tossed two dead roosters as well and picked up a few eggs on the floor before they got crushed by the chickens. Went back to my gathering table and got started. Counted and loaded the eggs, filled one cart and part of another, wrote it down on the paperwork. Went home warmed up a cheesy potatoes dish my mom made and took it to the church for a funeral dinner. Went back to the farm, walked the slats in both houses, sent a rooster flying like a cannonball again after he pecked me for the 4th or 5th time, disposed of another 3 or 4 dead chickens, mostly hens this time. Pulled the egg carts for both houses, unloaded a third egg cart as I ran out of flats. Gathered my eggs again, counted and loaded the egg cart and pushed it back to the egg room. Came home, watched some TV went back for my third gathering, pulled the egg carts for both houses, placed the washers, walked the floors, had to whack another rooster, threw out some more dead chickens, went back gathered my eggs, cleaned them, loaded the carts, counted the Double Yolks and Culls, totaled everything out on the books, nearly finished filling one cart, the heavy one. It's heavier than the other carts and one stack taller. It's a bitch to move when it's loaded. I only needed two more flats to have it full. Made three boxes, 2 for double yolks, 1 for culls, placed those in the egg room on the pallet. swept and cleaned up my work area then ate with the fam at the cafe after work and now I'm here. That's what I did.
