Yes, I've heard about Proactiv....haven't tried or bought any of it yet...gonna see if the meds he has will work first. If not, then we'll ask the doctor to try it and see.

my brother just bought that. I  at him.

Took my 14 yr old to the doctor today...his acne problems are getting worse, and the meds he has are not working very well....so the doctor gave him 3 prescriptions and a new regiment. Sure hope it works...he's the baby and I don't want his skin to have any acne scars.....worked some more on our patio also, had to redo 2 rows of stones, they seemed to be going "uphill"....want to start on the fish tank tomorrow, moving it to the patio...and our Shrimp Net is missing...we've looked all over for it, wanted to do some Shrimping tonight, so I'll buy another one.

try curbing down his dairy product intake. and cheese.

and I recall that he's a very active person so he'll need to wash his face frequently.

has doctor talked to you about Accutane?

Brush his face with seaweed, and it is natural skin therapy.

You don't need a prescription to get Proactiv. You can order it online. I've not ordered any as I don't have major acne issues.

I believe he got a prescription for that today!...Loves cheese....and he's super active too. Will pick up the prescriptions in the AM.

Yeah, seen it advertised often on TV and the internet.

yea he needs to curb down cheese intake. It's one of greatest contributor to acne issue.

I warn you - Accutane is extremely powerful and it's very effective so he will definitely experience side effect from it. Based on my experience with my friends whom I see nearly everyday before - drowsiness and dryness (as in feeling thirsty, chapped lips) are biggest complaints. Be careful and monitor it. It's important that he keeps hydrating himself.

Seaweed?...Haven't heard about that...available at the pharmacy?

thought so!...seaweed is sticky and yukky.

Sticky does not have to be yucky! :naughty: Actually seaweed works nicely. Proactiv worked well for my brother in law when he stuck to the program. He was often lazy though.

As for today...I pretty much ran errands and did paperwork all day. Preparing for upcoming trips. I did get in a good lifting session and got some sun

Wirelessly posted

I went to work, handed my pc to the computer repair class for cleaning, will get the pc back later in the day and did some zumba!

Thanks guys for the hugs. I'm doing fine. I tend to live in the here & now (though I'm thinking a LOT about my train trip later this year :giggle: ). But somethimes things/thoughts will make me think of my hubby and make me momentarily sad. I still have a teenager at home so that helps keep my mind busy. :D

Against my earlier objections I became an official Californian today. On Saturday I bought the new car here....I ended up paying almost $4000 in sales tax on it. My principles won out and I decided if I am going to live here and enjoy the beaches/mountains/weather I may as well pay my share.

So far I've just woken up. Or gotten out of bed, anyway. My insomnia is back! 2 nights in a row. It was doing so well for a while.

same here. my life sucks. I can't take it anymore... sleeping on sofa for about 2 weeks. enough is enough. currently searching for an apt. found a few from listings. may check it out later today before work. dang annoying.

Went to gym then caught a train to city and spent most of the afternoon at the hairdresser beautifying myself. :)

Well - finally got MIL to the nursing home and boy was it ever disorganized. At least she is there and they will start therapy later today. Now, we get to air out her room, and wash, shampoo and febreeze everything! Still have the library run to do and need to go to the bank.

When you go back to see her, ask the nurse for a copy of her meds sheet and make sure it's accurate. (been there, done that w/my hubby).
