What did you do today? Part II

Today was a busy one - first went over to one of my sisters' to take photos of her and her twins then helped best friend by prettifying her final paper (I'm a graphic designer so it was a matter of inserting graphics and making her paper look super good) for her 5th degree, a post-graduate in couple and family therapy.

and now, just twiddling thumbs till SO comes on yahoo chat.

Sunshine I am sorry you broke your glasses. I hope you can get them fixed, or new ones without spending a ton. Wekk on the bright side you can have a new look if you wish :).
 
I think need new ones. Lens broken one side, plus frame busted. New pair! $1,000 not plan spend...hooray.
 
I just want this day to be over with and go back to work and forget this drama.

Botti - thanks for this link. I will have to replace son's, hubby's and my glasses soon. Hubby has to have tri-focals, mine are bi-focals and son, we are not sure. His just have to be almost twice as strong now. His last pair, after insurance, we still paid $600. Insurance only paid $120.

Gee! That is not good. It is something not right about the price. Can you ask someone who brought the glasses at other store? Just save your money and exact you want to get for a reasonable price.

I went to church, the my pastor and his wife treated me and my DD to a lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant two towns up from here to celebrate my birthday. That meant a lot to me considering it was the first time I had a celebration of any sort for my birthday outside getting gifts from my parents and grandparents as a child. I had always wanted a birthday party growing up but never could have one. I would say this turned out really awesome. Then my DD and I went to my family's Thanksgiving dinner (the big family one) and I was apprehensIve about it because usually there is drama that goes down Jerry Springer style. Thank the good Lord nothing happened this year which makes me worried for the Christmas dinner. Then I went back to church for evening services and I joined a weight-loss group that starts in January. This was an awesome 28th birthday and thanks again everyone for all of the birthday wishes!! :D
 
Lazed around, worked on assignments, shopped at tj maxx, hung out with my friend for a while...now I'm making myself hot chocolate and popcorn
 
Good news, bad news.

The good news is, that thanks to advice from Sharky99, I finally made a better pizza crust on Saturday (after being disgruntled for years)!

The bad news is that I was too distracted on AD, and my pizza was a touch burnt. :(

Yumm! I enjoy making my own pizza. I usually buy the dough instead of making it myself. Did you make your dough?

Dough and sauce!!! I make a big batch of sauce then freeze it. Hee hee, have my daddy's original recipe (with my own modifications). I usually make pizza every Saturday, unless I'm working an art fair. I'm hoping I won't get distracted and overcook next time!

I go work today...there two people my office, plus boss. Boss not in yet, other girl C away, so just me. Third girl K sort of work here, she cover for C when she away. K come in today, she have work here with me before, as C take much time off. She say me today "wait, are you deaf?"

Seriously? You work me now two years you not notice this?!!?!?!?!?!?!?
 
Back to being busy and disgruntled. Bad night with no sleep. Got hubby off to work. Cat got sick and had to clean and shampoo that. Scooped litter box (daily chore), fixed breakfast, made hubby's lunches for the week. Took hubby his lunch, went to grocery for a loaf of bread, went to bank to cash check for MIL. Came home, dusted, cleaned walls, vacuumed and did the windows. Then, unloaded closets and got all of MIL's indoor Christmas decorations out. Helped set up some of it, but she and daughter are doing the rest. Had to run to Burger King to get lunch at 2. They are still setting up things, but the end is in sight. Hope I get to do some sewing today.
