I am considering getting out of windows completely and just get me a Chromebox. Just not sure if I want to do that yet.

nope. don't do it. ChromeBox is more of like a toy for those who have money to spend and time to waste.

I dislike windows 8 very much. Thats why i have t given up on my laptop cuz i dont want a new one with windows 8

Many of my friends have Windows 8 tablets and laptops, and I'm waiting for the day that they will all be begging me to help them fix the problem. Will I? Probably not, because I'm not a fan of Windows 8, either.

with either Apple or Windows... you can do everything you need to do. with ChromeBox... you can't

Depends. I've not yet tested one out, but I have doubts I can run a VP on one of these.

I am aware of that but I am online almost 100% of time. One thing I do know I'll miss is using my Office program but I know I can do same on Google docs. Just would have to get used to doing it there instead of Office.

Basically, you can do anything on Chromebox that you can do on Google Chrome. Also can run Google apps too. Only thing can't do is run programs independently.

the world doesn't use Google docs and you will be missing out certain important functionalities such as edit and notes when a person edited your doc and send it back to you. the fact that majority of computer users and businesses are still using Office so it would be foolish to ditch Windows completely for something that is hardly used.

Can I run ntouch or ZVRS on it? That's the sticky point.

Very true but I very rarely ever do that if any at all. I could always buy another CPU if things change. LOL

when I do use Office it is for myself and I never send those out to anyone so that won't be a problem.

Only change I would see that would require me to get CPU is if I go back to college.

exactly. money to spend and time to waste.

Chrome is not exactly PDF-friendly. You can read it but you won't be able to edit it if it's fillable. it's silly to use ChromeBox (one tool) for everything. Windows/Apple has many tools for specific things and that's how it should be done. That's why ChromeBox and ChromeBook failed to catch on.

just like everything in life, always plus and minus. I might end up just building a new computer and use the smallest case I can find. I dunno. However, I'm not in a hurry right now..

Son recently got a ChromeBook and had to return it. It worked fine for one (1) day, then all of a sudden, he lost files, he lost icons and then it shutdown and would not turn on. Making sure it was charged did not help. He went back to store and they put it into a box where about 45 others were that were returned. They took the rest off the shelf and we got the money back.

Good thing I don't have immediate plans to get one. I'll stick with Android for now.

I got super drunk last night and was still able to fix my laptop, despite taking a shortcut I wish I hadn't but at least I know I can do complex tasks when I'm falling over and super drowsy.
