What are you thinking about? Part VI

I have no idea who's doing it but it's through the state of Florida. I know they go back as far to even check your juvenile record... seems odd to me, but whatever makes them feel better about me sticking people with needles and such... :dunno2:
Not everyone has a juvenile record. Most people behave when they're juveniles.

I had security clearance background checks when I was in the Navy. NIS did it back then. It was for Top Secret.

I would think that a state-level background check is mostly looking for criminal records or bad credit. That should be a simple computer records check.

For the military, it also includes face-to-face interviews with former neighbors, relatives, employers, etc.

yup. a standard protocol. my brother's friend does that for living. it was routine for her to fly several states away just to talk to one person and then fly back to DC.

I only had to wait a month for the CI evaluation then after that once they seen I qualified for it again they set an appointment up with the ENT surgeon. They first told me I qualified for it in 2001 but waited till late 2008 to go for it and had to start the process over again but the entire thing from evaluation to being implanted took less than 6 months total.

I really don't think it will take even that long.

I got insurance approval on May 1, 2012 and had my surgery 8 days later. I guess the surgeon had a cancellation. WOW I'm excited for you. What brand have you decided to go with?

If you have any questions I will do my best to help?
I'm definitely not a pro like some of the other CI users though.

Good luck!!

I have had that background check. The good news sort of is that it is very expensive. They would not be spending that money on you if they thought it was going to be wasted. I have seen people pass who in my own thinking would not. They really care that all statements are true.

I think my good ole laptop is on its last leg I've gotten 4 "screens of death" in the past month and it did it again about an hour ago but I got a "Serious system error" message this time when rebooted :| oh well its over 6 years old guess it may be time to switch to my new laptop.

^^ no, just do a reformat reinstall should give you a couple more years

I'd prolly mess something up, if I do that I'll take it somewhere. I like my old Acer even if it is slow lol

Kinda hard to mess up a re-install. Do you still have disc that came with it or even a program that would let you do factory reset? If so, when you run it, it'll be just like when you bought it.. First thing to do is to backup all your personal files like pictures and word and excel files and etc. Don't have to backup the programs themselves. just the files that is made when you use excel or word.

I do that once in a while to my computer just to keep it running smoothly.

Also keep in mind when you do a factory reset, it'll have to do whole bunch of updates so it'll be downloading those and rebooting your computer for short while.

No factory discs came with it I had to make back up cd's myself .. you just made me realize it probably can't be done on this laptop since they quit supporting XP so wouldn't be able to update ... its running XP Media Center Edition.

In that case, sounds like a good time to get a new computer but based on my experience, try to get Windows 7 instead of 8.1.

I got a "new" HP with Win7 back on black friday 2012 but just like my old Acer wide screen better ;) only turned it on ever few months for updates.

Windows 8? yea I went full retard.

I'm feeling old... Like those old people you see in movies chasing kids off their lawns and yelling at computers... "Confounded new contraptions!" Yes, that is me... with Windows 8... I do not like it... in the slightest... My friend just upgraded from 7 to 8 and I was trying to help her out and man... wow... umm... no... F U Windows.... F U....

I am considering getting out of windows completely and just get me a Chromebox. Just not sure if I want to do that yet.

I dislike windows 8 very much. Thats why i have t given up on my laptop cuz i dont want a new one with windows 8
