What are you thinking about? Part IV

Hmm, can you spin a pizza? Can you take specific gravity readings using a hydrometer? If you answered yes to both, you're hired!

Just for select members, but don't worry: you're on the list :)

Of course.

BTW: I would still give you a discount no matter what. :)

I know you weren't asking me, but for me I thought about this a couple years ago too. Went back to school for IT. Got through a good chunk of it which was great for my existing career (graphics, web design). But not enough of a career change to make me too excited. So now I'm reconsidering how I want to finish school now.

My SO and I are considering starting a restaurant. In our opinion, you should know every aspect of the business, not just some. So, he's planning on taking culinary classes after he's done with his ASL classes. I already cook decently well (although I could do better!), we both went to school for business management, and he already owned his own business before closing it down to join the military. So .. just an idea in the works right now.

My hubby wants to own a restaurant too. What kind of restaurant?

A pizza and a brewery pub will probably generate a lot of business! Who can say no to beer and pizza? lol

I'm thinking about this video of a tornado slamming into Little Rock on live TV. (KTHV is showing it)

GIS field with a focus in transportation (or urban planning). It's a very broad field but very specialized and it's new. The largest client is real estate.

I can see myself doing it till my retirement. I definitely can't see myself doing what I am doing for another few years because I will get replaced by somebody younger and smarter.. somebody more well-versed with future programming trend.... and I hate programming but I do this because it's good money... for now. Just a matter of time till my time limit is up. However - good thing is that my programming skill & experience is transferable to GIS.
GIS is way cool. I did some of that in school.

What is GIS?

I'm thinking of starting my own business also. Might give myself one year to get things squared away and save up for it.

What is GIS?
Geographic Information Systems. A way of blending gepgraphy and computers. That is a very basic explanation...but you can map population density, predict flooding, etc, etc. So many things you can do.

I don't have a career at the moment, but if I did, I would want to change it to being a brewery owner and pizza maker. Yeah, that's the stuff!

oh yea? then I shall do the pizza test.

As for career change - I'm looking into USDA as a career choice. It's a comfortable living from what I've actually seen from inspectors. It's not rich, but it's not dirt poor either. You have everything you need and some of what you want. Ideal for me really salary wise.

USDA-FSIS

I could work for the government. With how I have been feeling about teaching lately, I wouldnt be surprised if I applied for a govt job in the future. However, my hubby and I may have plans this fall that may need me to have a 10 month job for a few more years.
