Also, my grandmother lived a few blocks away from us at that time...my brother and I would ride our bikes to her house during the summer just to use her pool while she and her hubby were at work. We had the keys to her gate so we just went into her backyard, swam for several hours, and then lock it up before going home. It was great!

This year we are going there along with my brother and his girlfriend because it is my grandmother's 80th birthday bash.

We already got the flight tickets and all 5 of us will be there for 2 weeks so we plan on traveling to Vegas, Grand Canyon, and to California. My brother's girlfriend has never been on the west coast. My hubby did live in California but has never been to Vegas so I cant wait to take him to Vegas. He will go WILD in Vegas..that's for sure. LOL! My brother and I have been to Vegas so many times when we both lived in Phx. I miss it.

Now, almost all brand new homes automatically come with pools. Back in those days, pools were a luxury. Now, they are a part of the package. Just like electronic windows on cars.

It will be interesting because we dont have anyplace to go and gamble but at a Superbowl party, my hubby played poker alll night with my deaf friends ..even missing the Superbowl game. It will be interesting to see what he does in Vegas. Whenever I went, I never really gambled...just did a lot of sightseeing and lounging by the hotel pools. Sometiems, I would play the slot machines but I always felt like I was wasting time when there was so much to do and see in Vegas.

Why not you living in northern or central Arizona? not so hot. I like Sedona but housing is expensive.

I have a new phone with a good quality camera so I will take lots of pics. I cant wait to go to Vegas...so excited to show my hubby and my brother's girlfriend Vegas. They have NO idea what's there. Seeing it on TV is not the same thing.

No job opportunities for my husband and I. My husband would love to live there. He has a very very good job with the Fed govt and he wont find another job making the money he is making now.

Las Vegas is a very beautiful place to walk in, especially at night where all the lights are up (drools). My family and I went there a few times and many times without me. So many things to do in Vegas...

Are the houses expensive to live in near Vegas? Gosh I'd give up my job just to have any job at the Mirage hotel... for a while. :)laugh2:)

One of my old high school classmates just bought a house in Vegas last year. I can ask her. However, out in suburb Vegas, houses are soooo cheap! Just like in Phx. I am sure as you get closer, the property taxes probably go up. However, house prices...not sure.

Like in Phx...any houses near Tempe Towne Lake (by Arizona State University) are much more expensive than the houses back out in the West Valley where my mom lives.
 
I am thinking about the week ahead. I hope tomorrow will be cooler but not cold. I am also thinking 3 weeks until iPhone 4.

Well any house close to Vegas! I'd like to drive to there and back in no time! but a lot of people would like that, so houses being expensive right next to Las Vegas makes sense.

What does this term mean, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?" I'm sure it's either funny or clever, but never got to know what it really means... :lol:

Why? I don't believe there will be any significant changes until iPhone 6. I can wait. My current phone is nearly in 'caveman' status compared to all of these advanced devices. :shock:

I got a MyTouch 3G even though the MyTouch 4Gs had just came out. It only costed me $50 for it so I would rather pay less for something that is wayyyy better than my Sidekick. I am happy with it. I dont need the most fancy phone that is out there.

Just a food for thought...

Because prostitution, drinking at all hours, and many more are legal when in other places, they are illegal. So people do stuff that they wouldnt normally do hence that famous quote.

Exactly - iPhone 4 wouldn't be obsolete for 3-4 years if I decided to keep it that long - however under a new Verizon contract I would be eligible for an upgrade in the 20th month of a 24-month contract. They are doing away with their NE2 plans.
