That type of person is very rare. And they are also very sick. So, we should kill people who have a severe mental disorder?

Uh...no. I say it cause of a front page news article that came out in the newspaper today over here. The man burned down his house with his family inside just because he felt like it. He has no history of mental illness at all and has been known to try and kill them before. Hmm, so what do we have here? Someone who has anger management issues and clearly thinks killing them is the best answer to deal with his issues...so far he killed two ( the second victim died yesterday ) and the other six have over 80% of their body burned... I don't have anything against people who have mental disorders but I do have something against people that are completely sane and do this kind of stuff...Premeditated murder [is] a crime after all.

I have a question, do some people use a device to type here because sometimes the languages is very choppy, or in ASL like in spanish for instance the sentences are grammatically different?

The grammar is very different. Some type very ASL-like, others type very English-like.

So do you believe that the mentally challenged should be held accountable for their actions or should they get a pass?

Have you read "Of Mice and Men"? It's related to this question you just asked.

No I have never read that book before, but I am asking for personal view not one from an author or at least how that book swayed you to feel the way you do

No, they should not get a " free pass ". But I would understand that it is harder for that person to understand the society norms and that with some professional help the person could go on in society without having to worry for some kind of break down and the person going around hurting others. This man on the other hand is totally sane and did that because he wanted to and without provocation at all.

Ok but would you say that if the person has the mental capacity of at least an 8 year old they are old enough to comprehend right and wrong?

I actually see why Sheila asked that question. I had to read that book for classes. It's a really important, and insightful book. I don't think that book can sway you -- it is laid out as it is.

Of course they can discern what's right and what's wrong. Regardless of his capacity he needs professional help.

Are you guys all talking about the killing people comment or the text comment... I just got very confused
Natural blonde what can I say...

I would say both need to be punished and to pay for their actions and I am equally disgusted whether they are mentally disabled or not....

I know that sounds crass that I feel that way about the mentally disabled but if they have the mental capacity of a child then they fully understand right from wrong and the word NO. And I have little tolerance for those who use enablers

they don't get a pass. they go to mental institution... probably for life.

Just because it came out of a front page news article about one person does not mean that people who kill just for killing's sake are not extremely rare. Just because he has no history of being diagnosed with a mental illness does not mean that he does not have a mental illness. If he has attempted homicide before, then he obviously has a mental health diagnosis.

This guy is far from sane. From a mental health perspective. The law's perspective of sane is built on different criteria.
