Stay safe Reba! No storms here where I am (yet). Not sure if there was or will be any where my niece is in SC either.

Boy am I glad I waited to read AD until AFTER I talked to people about a possible job. My brain would have melted and would not have functioned.

anything under 100 dollars is NOT an arm and a leg. It's peanuts. Now for someone like me with a super limited income it might be as some of my bills is more than half my income. You on the other hand CB DO have a steady 'income' so don't bitch about an arm and a leg. If you budget correctly it would not be a concern.

I am a little surprised that there is a difference in price between online and at the station- that doesn't make sense. They do sometime have internet specials (like some airlines) but the difference isn't THAT huge from my experience. Used to ride Amtrak quite often and a relative worked for them for many decades.

Ow.. wow that was painful to try to follow....

I am currently looking at my Amtrak e-ticket, and the Amtrak app that I have for the exact same two trains, and on my e-ticket, I paid $28.90 for each train #393 and #392. Now, the app shows something entirely different-- Train #393 shows a $34 ticket price, and Train #392 shows a $23 ticket price. Still don't think it's the same?

28.90 is your disability discounted price. $23 may be a special price, but if you used the disability discount, they had to use the normal price.
Here on the NEC, up to 14 days before travel they offer a special 25% off discounted price (limited). If you try to use a discount (disability, AAA, etc) with the special price it reverts to the normal price minus the discount. The website will warm you of this. I always try to book 24+ days out to get the bigger discount.

That $23 was regularly priced. The #392 train has always been the cheaper train than the #393. Not sure why that is.

Then you should have gotten that ticket for $23 - 15%

Sitting thru a scary storm. It's very dark all of a sudden, and there is strong wind and rain, thunder and lightning. I'm watching the trees sway, and listening for NOA warnings. I wish TCS was here. :(

Ouch, I had bad storm on last Monday. :(

We all get that you're just trying to hit 8000 posts... give it a rest already.

It's already a depressingly large amount of posts in such a short amount of time here as is!

Based on 50 posts per day, he would hit 18,200 with 1 year, unless he willing to post 100-200 posts per day to annoying you.

Well, she won't have long to worry. Next month I'll be going silent when I head south, unless I am really, really, really bored to death down there.

Wait and see - we will know you post really a lot. :D

But you said you saw that price.

I doubt you'd get a low price on a Sunday heading to Chicago anyway.

Yeah, I did, but there was a pop-up saying that the trains weren't available on the dates selected, but I pressed "OK" to see the prices anyways.

Yeah, well. I'm gonna be talking with my family about activities to do so I won't be. I can think of fishing at Sam Dale Lake while I'm there.

Anyone have any Velveta Cheese to offer, to go with the whine?

Heading south for a whole 3 days...well that will give us a huge break. You said your trip is from May 30th-June 1st that is going to be exhausting.

Doubtful, we know that you will talking about your trip on AD forum 24/7.

Let me know about how is your trip and hopefully you don't get into wrong route to LA or FL.

That's funny, but his statement about confidential is joke.

Oh we all know that...
Thats why the otter boxes were invented to protect all that valuable information.

I am collecting my breath after laughing so hard at a scene on NCIS. Hadn't laughed that hard in years, goodness.
