BTW, ChicagoBlue, you can't use the App for disability discounts on Amtrak. You can do it on the website, though.

Found that out the hard way-- not cool.

I don't know why you think buying online is cheaper than paying in person. Compare the prices when you get to the station. They should be the same.

It's not. I'll screenshot an example when I get back home. I'm at Ogilvie now.

:laugh2: Well as long as you pay them on time it doesn't really matter how many you have! Well... to a degree, I suppose?

I only have two credit cards; one is my Chase Sapphire and the other is through my credit union Achieva. ( I only got a second credit card because in order to qualify for a freaking mortgage they said I had to have three revolving lines of credit and at that time I only had two; my car and my Chase credit card. ) *JERKS* Anyway... Yes, Chase has excellent customer service, I don't think I've ever talked to a machine... which is my favorite thing in the world... Plus any time I've needed a new card I can just go into any branch and they make one right there! It's great! That has to be my favorite... Anyway, can't hurt ya! If you do a lot of international traveling that is, it might be your better bet. If customer service is important to you ( some people don't care ) it's also worth it. Those people always seem happy to be there... Not quite sure how... I didn't work in my customer service job long... but when I did...( Pre-college ) I HATED IT!!! Seriously though, they have to pay those people pretty well... or feed them happy pills at the start of every day... :laugh2:

yea I have a bunch of CC and I only use 1. I never close CC accounts because it will hurt my credit score. In my wallet, I keep only 2 CC... VISA and AMEX because some restaurants accept only AMEX. rest of my CC are in my "aristocrat" wallet that I keep in my drawer.

I do plan on going to Chase bank near me to sweet-talk my way to sign up for Sapphire with higher points. My friend told me that when signing up for United MileagePlus with Chase online, you get 30,000 points but if you go in-person, you get 50,000 points. my friend warns that the promotion may have already expired. let's seeeeeeeee!

I am. It's in my pocket now. I'll be using just over half of it today, so not too bad. And paying on-line is far cheaper than this. It's almost $60, but on-line it was $34.

be glad that it's not costing you an arm and leg

oh my. you're on AD while you're out.... you are truly addicted to AD...

when I exit out of that door in my home, I'm disconnected - well people can txt me but I don't really like to converse while I'm out. I keep it short and I don't continue to glue my eyes on my iPhone - game, reading, surfing the net, txting, etc. not even while I'm in subway or bus. there are more to life and I like to look around me.

Just left Union Station. Place is HOT. And LoveBlue, I found what you were referring to a few weeks back. Can't believe I missed it the entire time.

Funny. I actually got some decent photos in addition to my Amtrak tickets. I'll put them up when I get back. Still got a 15-minute wait for the 7:25 train.

So I looked on my Amtrak app for a roundtrip on Trains #393 and #392, and guess what I discovered? Yeah, the price was $34 on-line, and at Union Station, it's gonna cost me an arm and a leg, being that I'm getting the tickets within the month of May.
So? Buy it on line.

Sitting thru a scary storm. It's very dark all of a sudden, and there is strong wind and rain, thunder and lightning. I'm watching the trees sway, and listening for NOA warnings. I wish TCS was here. :(

So I tried to get a screenshot of the on-line prices for one of the members here, but it seems the Amtrak website is having some type of technical difficulty, so I'll check back in later when I get back home from my appointment this afternoon.

Power is back on now but still storming.

Using the wood stove hopefully for the last time this season.

:hug:Reba, stay safe! I saw about the severe storms in the South!

Reading AD as I sit in my living room chair. Super-tired from work it was crazy busy today. But that is a good thing. :)

Stay safe Reba! No storms here where I am (yet). Not sure if there was or will be any where my niece is in SC either.

Boy am I glad I waited to read AD until AFTER I talked to people about a possible job. My brain would have melted and would not have functioned.

anything under 100 dollars is NOT an arm and a leg. It's peanuts. Now for someone like me with a super limited income it might be as some of my bills is more than half my income. You on the other hand CB DO have a steady 'income' so don't bitch about an arm and a leg. If you budget correctly it would not be a concern.

I am a little surprised that there is a difference in price between online and at the station- that doesn't make sense. They do sometime have internet specials (like some airlines) but the difference isn't THAT huge from my experience. Used to ride Amtrak quite often and a relative worked for them for many decades.

Ow.. wow that was painful to try to follow....
