Steaming some late night asparagus in Alaska.

Earlier today at the produce rack, two older Alaskan guys looking at the asparagus, poking at it. Damn that's some bad looking asparagus! The other guy with a bald head that looks like it has been used for battering ram says, Do you see any other asparagus around here?

Scene fades as the two are stuffing bags with bad asparagus....

People on fb are talking about it .

watching robin redbreast watching me
I enjoy your bird posts, especially the ones about coastal birds. You even see Puffins, right? I'm jealous. :)

We have a nesting family of chickadees I've been watching.

I haven't seen any springtime robins yet. Our winter has been extra long this year. Have seen flocks of Canucks on their flight back North.

I had to hit the brakes when driving my Jeep last week to avoid hitting a low-flying egret.

My neighbor spotted a robin here yesterday. There is still snow on the ground. The ground is still frozen. This is very unusual for a robin to be here this soon. There are sunny spots during the day where the ground thaws for a while. I know they come up here in flocks; I hope they can survive.
Last year the ducks came back too early before there was foliage on the trees and brush along the water. It was awful. The eagle and the osprey that work the creek really tore them up. The seven adults that survived stayed all winter in the unusual open water. They are the smartest ones.
The eagle and osprey are still after them but they are wary. I do not see any females among them. Climate change is having its effect here.

Having a cup of coffee before I start cleaning up the house for it to get messed up again by the kids. Making me wonder if I should not bother. LOL

My husband went to the post office to mail in the Eastern Deaf Timberfest registration. I cant wait to go camping!!!

I helped my brother put 200 baby catfish into the ponds he built. He did a good job of it and it is the real deal, with river gravel and pumps. He also has worm farms ready to feed the fish.
SO COOL! :)

Waiting for the rain to let up some...my doggie won't go out and is miserable....Rained all last night too...Great day for sleeping in, tho'...Very overcast and dark.....:giggle: my doggie just passed out again (back to sleep).
