At a retirement party. One of the staff is retiring today. Many of us are gonna say goodbye to him.

Why are you posting during the party?? I would lay off technology for awhile and enjoy the party. When I go out, I never use the internet while I'm out. There's time for everything.

I swear, people are too technology addicted that they have to use it during meals, outings, church, everywhere they go. Ridiculous imo. There's life out there.

Hasn't started yet.

Testing out a new recipe for oatmeal I have invented. Just another of my crazy ideas. I am working on making large hearty breakfasts that have good nutrition and are easy on the stomach. No sugar! No animal fat! Strong flavored sea salt that makes using way less salt easy. Combining steamed vegetables with grains cooked in the rice cooker. Completely breaking away from ethnic and traditional norms. Organic grains bought in bulk. I will work on the small fruit portion later after the sugar craving thing is more at bay.
I would have never ever guessed that I would be willingly doing this kind of thing. Breaking away from the Diet of Death nice and gradually.

ha ha ha sometimes I felt if it were not enough sweet then i added raisins in oatmeal than adding sugars or brown sugar or maple syrup. :dunno2:

keep up with your experiement with food. always think of good things!

It is kind of fun Frisky. I got interested in Asian food and cooking and then slowly understood that there is a lot of balancing of strong flavors and so on going on.
I have a real sweet tooth so it has been quite a time getting a handle on it. It is amazing how the sugar voice talks to me all the time. Sometimes sultry and seductive, sometimes brassy and bold...

Retirement party is done. On the northbound #22 Clark bus back home, well before Rush Hour, which is always insane here in the city. :P

and free food!

I cannot resist free food no matter where it is. Our community pool had a movie at the pool last year. They put up big screen and swimmers can watch movies. I was not interested at all because there is no captions and it's dark out there which makes it difficult to read people's lips so it wasn't for me at all but they provided free food. I went just for the food and left after I was done. :D Pretty good food. First time was pizza, another time was sub sandwiches. It was held at my community so I had the right to go as much as anyone else. It wasn't like I crashed someone's party :giggle:.

Oh, yeah. That steak taco? Wow. Best I ever tasted, and that shredded cheese tasted like commercial chesse, and not from a food store.

Glad you had a great time! But I gotta ask, what kind of cheese do you get from a food store? By food store do you mean something that's not a grocery store and is some kind of government cheese place? :hmm:

Government, no. Fancy? Definitely.

Well I don't know what you mean by food store but at least in my area you can get fancy cheese even at the cheapest grocery store. Even at Wal-mart they do have a sort of fancy section of cheeses that are just a little better than the generic store brand.

This cheese came from a famous place in Lincoln Park. Can't remember the name now, but they made some mean vanilla cake, which was just a tad too sweet for my liking.
