Weight

To be honest I have to agree with FC here, it like how hard they worked on their weight loss, and how they feel better about themsevles now than they did before, and it also help others to lose the weight too ... Also it can save many women and men's lives too cause it can be a serious health issue for many out there, so with all the help and the encourage it can make a difference in everyone too....

I'm sorry I didn't see your post it wasn't like I was jumping all over you....

Oh dear I better hush now....

No, I was offended. You have to realize what atmosphere you are dealing with. Like I said in the other post, the majority of us have eating disorders. Anyone with an eating disorder realizes that anything having to do with weights, pictures and such, CAN have an impact. unhealthy atitudes and behaviors arise. It's like saying..."Hey, look at her. She looks awesome. I sure wish I could look like that." Then, that person sets about starving themselves for the next 2 weeks so they can look like that! It's unhealthy. All I was suggesting is that instead of posting pictures and so forth to promote weight loss, we encourage healthy eating habits instead.

there have been many threads about weight loss, showing pictures of ourselves (our new looks, our old pics, etc), how to lose weight, etc... but nothing about eating disorder??? ---> correct me if i am wrong... so why don't YOU start a thread about eating disorders? so we can support you guys and understand you guys better? how's that???
:) :grouphug:

what do you GUYS think!??? so we can support ob and others that are struggling with this issue???

NOTE: sorry for going :topic: :D

*** also, if the pictures bother you, simply don't go in those threads where the pictures are, because we need them for motivation, support, etc... it just helps us a great deal, i hope you understand that dear :) ***

Exactly!

If I may, I'd like to sound off alittle. I've been seeing a lot of negative stuff surrounding weight lately, and it's starting to get on my nerves. One poster wanted us to post weights also as encouragment for weight loss. Another thread wanted pix of us at our unhealthy weights. Personally, I think this is damaging, and permits competition amongst us in the weight loss arena. It promotes eating disorder behavior, and it's no secret that most of have eating disorders, or has had one.

It would be nice if we all could just promote healthy eating habits amongst each other instead of showing pictures or asking for weights.

Just my two cents.

AMEN OceanBreeze :gpost: :applause: :applause:

i am sorry if you are feeling insecure... but have you FORGOTTEN that some of us WERE IN YOUR SHOES??? so we know what it is like!!! sheesh... so i don't see anything wrong with showing pictures of our new looks cuz we are proud of ourselves for overcoming our fears and struggles with our weight/excuses... cuz we WORKED DAMN HARD to reach our goals... and we feel that YOU GUYS CAN DO IT TOO!!! :grouphug:

we are NOT TRYING
to make those feel insecure, let alone competite (sigh)... why do you think we discuss about how we did it and try to encourage and help other members??? ...

by the way, asking HOW MUCH A PERSON WEIGHS IS DAMN RUDE- ESPECIALLY LOW-CLASS! :thumbd:

Fiesty,
I agree with what you're saying too, because it's such a wonderful accomplishment to work so hard to get the extra weight off, and get down to your goal weight is a remarkable thing. It is something you should be very proud of too.

OceanBreeze, did include people who have eating disorders, and how it may be touchy for them. My oldest daughter, was a Bulimic, and as a mom it was the worst nightmare I ever had to go through. The more she dropped her weight, the more the numbers of her weight were becoming conscious to her.
That maybe what OceanBreeze is talking about. But, the success story here is, she knew what she was doing to herself, and she got the help she needed including a 10 day stay at a eating disorder hospital, and now she is back to where she was before she became sick. That is the success stories we like to hear.

So to both FeistyChick and OceanBreeze, I truly admire your opinions because what you both said came from your heart, and that is what we need more here is what comes from everyone's heart!!!! :ily: :ily: both!!! You both are truly remarkable people and don't ever forget that!!!!

Let me check.

*stands on scale*

Hmm... it's not telling me anything. I guess I broke it. ;)

Its not off topic, and its actually a good idea. As for myself, this is no secret so I will share it. I have exhibited eating disordered behavior in the past, and still struggle with it from time to time. I do want to apologize to you for coming so strongly, but it truly struck a nerve with me. It's not that I'm necessarily self conscience about how *I* look; its more along the lines of thinking that it's unhealthy. I've seen girls and women struggle with EDs. Some made it to recovery; while others did not, and I just don't want to see someone else get triggered and think that THEY can't measure up. Because, truthfully and honestly, NONE lof us should worry about how we look. Weight loss should be about health and nothing else!

But, I do agree with you about this: The creator of this thread has NO business asking us what we weigh! That showed absolutely NO CLASS whatsoever!

im around 118-120ibs and im 5'4....yeah im skinny but oh well

Well I was trying to say in the other post..
But I guess this is a sensitive issue.
If you are happy being fat, then you shouldn't be ashame to reveal your weight.

I'm gonna get ban because of this...

My cousin had beautiful baby girl, she didn't exercise, but stay same size she was before she got pregnant.

My aunt had 5 kids, didn't exercise, but stay slim.

And my white cousin had 6 children and she is slim, didn't exercise, and stay slim

They didn't go through diet or didn't have cosmestic surgery liposuction to stay thin.

They eat junk food and don't overeat, they eat they way they always ate.

My sister gain a lot of weight and gave birth to my nephew and she ate more and more continuing and is twice as big now.

I read the posts between OB, FC and CODAgirl... I can understand where they come from...

OB, I would suggest you to create a thread about eat disorder... I would love to know more about this...

Can somebody help me figure out?

Since most babies weight 7 pounds when they are born.

Do pregnant women have to eat for 2 people?

Or is that a myth?

After having baby, can the swollen stomach go away and can you go back same weight before?

So since the swollen stomach go away and baby is born which make you 10 pounds lighter, and you go back eating for one person, then what is the problem with women stay the same size, they were before?

I'm still debating whether I want to do that or not. It's a personal issue for me, and I'm not sure I want to open myself up like this, but we'll see. If someone ELSE wants to create a thread, then fine by me.
