Yeah it looks like he might have been a meth addict....... Still doesn't excuse the assault. Hard to imagine what he could have done to warrant cigarette burns and being urinated on.

But yeah it appears the kid was a mess.

I agree, the attack wasn't warranted. See the link below...seems (all speculation now) he said in his Facebook that he is known as a raver called Decoy and that his brother is in prison. This would explain why he was roaming the streets at 2am....if true....

I agree with Banjo...there is no reason for any 16 year old to be out at 2AM. However, there is no reason for violence but of course, there will always be sickos out there and I hope they get prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
 
Interesting. Not one word (unless I missed it) about this hate crime if it's true on how it happened. Yet, people dodged this and went after the victim instead or his parents, yada yada yada. Did he deserve it? No. I blame the perpetrators. Go after them instead.

It's a crutch argument saying "He was asking for it" or in the case of a woman, "She was asking for it" (and get raped). No one deserves it. But it certainly was quite interesting on how people here viciously went after the victim instead (or his parents).:hmm:

There is such a thing called being at the wrong place at the wrong time. This was probably it (until we get the full story).

Now I really wonder about the victim's family for this sounds like the parents aren't doing their jobs - if this is true.

Graveyard shift workers tend to own a vehicle or call a taxi since transit lines shut down between 10PM to midnight, depending on the routes and the city itself; on the rare occasion, transits run 'til 1AM to accommodate the bar scene.

So the "cops" and "late shift" are not part of the late-night street demographics.

It amazes me on how you have your finger on the pulse of the latge night demographics and can accuratly describe what and who the late night crowd consists of. It must be a heavy weight to bear with all of that knowledge. For the record, I disagree with you. And assuming you are correct for "your" area of the world I can tell you for a fact that it's not the case everywhere else. Broaden your horizons my brother. Peace!
 
Right, Rockdrummer. Taking a late-night stroll is certainly different in where you do it. It's not the time of the walk but where it was taken that may or may not be an increased risk.
