He should not go out on school night doesn't mean he deserves it. Two men should take him home instead of beating him up in the first place.
Maybe they were out of candy to bail him with.

It doesn't matter is he is a high school drop out ....meth addict....male prostitute and a run away. Still a victim. Ya'll going to start blaming women in short dresses now too.
This article was reported in June. This is interesting.

The victim, Shane McClellan, said he was walking home around 2 a.m. when two men, whom he described as black and Filipino, asked him for a light.
He said the two men then robbed him and beat him for four hours, whipping him with his own belt while saying things like, “How do you like it, white boy?” and “This is for enslaving our people,” according to the police report.
McClellan, who is white, said the two men also poured Four Loko energy beer on him, burned him with a cigarette and urinated on him, police said.
seems like alot of you are siding with the attackers just because the kid was on the streets at 2 a.m.

This is not justifiable no matter what time a person walks outside.

It had nothing to do with being outside at any hour. It had everything to do with the people he encountered, not what time it was.
I am glad that someone has a crystal ball that works and that can see into and predict the past. You must be a millionaire.Um... a teenager being out on his own at 2am has a lot of risk factors. Where were his parents?
This could had been avoided. Easily.

It's a heck of a way to learn a lesson about being outside alone at that hour of night.

that all depends on many many variables of which we can speculate all day on. Bottom line, I agree with you that it was wrong no matter what.I'm not so sure, RD, cuz I think, chances are, those attackers most probably wouldn't have done what they did at 2 in the afternoon. But at any rate, regardless of the time, of course it was wrong and I hope something's done about it.

Apparently not so "common"No, it's called common sense.
so nobody out after dark then eh? Interesting because depending on the time of year darkness comes as early as 5p.m. sorry but I don't think it is reasonable to say people should not venture out after dark for fear of people that may have dark sidesWirelessly posted
Actually, it does have a lot to do with what time it is. For centuries, humans have issues with crimes committed after dusk. Why? Not as many witnesses after nightfall and easier to hide misdeeds under the cover of the dark. It's not unknown people have a dark side to their personality once they believe they would get away with their actions.
No one here is siding with the attackers, we are just saying night-time is when the worst of human actions (in public) are revealed.
