Tropical storm Irene approaches

There was a series of severe thunderstorms passing through the Mid-Atlantic states this evening...all totally unrelated to the hurricane. Just a cold front coming through, that's all. Souther MD just had a tornado warning this evening from this line of t-storms.

When I took Marty for a walk today at the duck pond ,the ducks where not in the water they where all cuddle together on the grass. They are always in the water or looking around for food. I did not see very birds flying around today. I put the bird bath on my deck. It just small table and tray but the birds and animals love it! I better be careful Marty will not get blown away when I take him out!

Everyone that is in the path of the storm are in my thoughts today and tomorrow. :( I do not wish it on anyone.

Are they shutting down the subways in NYC sometime today?

I know...I survived a haboob Thursday night in Phx, Sat..my flight back to MD was delayed for 5 hours due to a mechanical failure...Sunday, my area had a small tornado but was hit by a monster T-storm, Monday...nothing (just first day back at work), Tuesday, earthquake, Wed ..major drama with my ex hubby and daughter that left me unable to sleep well, today...aftershock....

tmw...Sat...Sunday?

GEEZ what a FREAKING "welcome back to MD" this week has been!!!!!

That is a LOT!

It was a beautiful day here on the OBX today. We took a nice walk on the beach late this afternoon, and ran into the same couple (with their beautiful golden retriever) that we met just before Hurricane Earl, a couple (or three?) years ago. They live the next subdivision over from us.

And they are staying, despite the mandatory evacuation order. Hmmm....

We are leaving first thing tomorrow. Bracing ourselves for what could be very bad traffic going up 95. And then we'll find out if the earthquake knocked anything off our walls or shelves in the VA house. Fingers crossed... Our neighbor in VA told us it knocked pictures off her wall and broke a few small things.
I hope your trip home goes well.

except if be thinking of you Frisky, KEEP your furkids INSIDE...
and be stocked of a week, actually with a Weeks' water...

Wirelessly posted (droid)

Stay safe, my friends. Calmly prepare. Don't panic. I'll be sending my best thoughts.

Weather here today is a little overcast, hot and humid...the river has calmed down a lot and we do have a slight breeze....supposed to rain all week long, hot and humid.

I have all of you in the path in my thoughts. Try not to let the stress and the anxiety become overwhelming. (Yeah, I know: easy to say when you aren't in the path!) But there isn't much else I can do for you at this point. Just know I care.
