Travis the monkey killed for going on a rampage while mental

Yes, but i still say wild animals should stay where they
belong..in the wild, wild animal world, IMO.

I understand to a certain point.

I believe animals that are in need of rescue needs to be saved. Especially the endangered ones.

A lot of these animals are being poached and hunted. The species are being wiped out.

Most people, that do take Certain wild animals into their homes, are the ones that can not be released back in the wild for a certain reason. They would not be able to survive.

So an accredited person should be able to care for and handle an animal.

Just because of a mishap of an animal does not mean we should ban it all together.

If that would be true then parents would be banned from having children since some kids are known to kill their own parents. (cruel way of explaining I know)

but the point is just because something happened. Does not mean it needs to be banned or stopped.

You have to realize something.....Primates, monkeys or whatever
you want to call them, are W I L D animals, thats what the
difference, ok?? so therefore they should NOT, NOT EVER, be
PETS, PERIOD!! they are not domestic like dog or cat, ok??
So of course, these wild animals need to be banned as pets!
After what that horrible attack on that poor woman by that nasty
chimpanzee, which is an wild animal...get it????
So I dont see anything interesting about what you said...

Dogs and Cat were wild, before they were domesticated.

No difference. That is why they still attack people on instinct.

Animals react on instinct. Doesn't matter if it is a dog, cat, or any animal for instance.

Woman Mauled By Chimp May Have Brain Damage

an update.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Hospital officials in Ohio say a Connecticut woman mauled by a chimpanzee two weeks ago lost her hands, nose, lips and eyelids and may be blind and suffering brain damage.

The Cleveland Clinic tells The Associated Press that 55-year-old Charla Nash also lost the bone structure in her face when she was attacked on Feb. 16 in Stamford, Conn.

The clinic revealed the specific injuries today for the first time.

Nash remains sedated in the hospital, which performed the nation's first face transplant in December. Hospital officials say it's too early to know if she will be a candidate for a face transplant.

The 200-pound chimp was shot and killed by police. Police are still deciding whether its owner, Sandra Herold of Stamford, will face

Brain Damage? geez...really alot worse than I thought. Travis sure did a hell of a job on her face...*shooking head*

Well, at least she's still alive and that I hope she would get a quick recovery.

Yep. got attacked by a cat who stracthed my face before...and I've put on ALOT of bandages on my face it wasnt even funny.

other cat jumped on my back as I was bending down pouring water in a bowl for them, and I screamed as loud as fuck, when she landed on my back sticking her claws thru my skin and as I got up and yelped she got off and ran away and I got those "bug bites" marks on my back.

understandable but I don't think we should strictly regulate on what you can have or cannot have. If they think they can handle it, then let them be. Just like anybody can buy ferrari - a powerful V12 car... if not handled properly - it can result in death. But hey... let them be, right?

Yeah, I would like to add more example to your post here...

If I know that I can't handle dangerous domestic dogs like Top Ten (10) Most Dangerous Dog Breeds | Pets Do then don't adopt or buy them. If you know how to handle like that then is your choice like Sigfried & Roy with exotic cats....

Oh my dear... it's terrible... :(

The owner of the chimp may be facing charges. but it has still been undecided.

Yes, they should charge the owner of the chimp as the same as they did to the owner of dangerous dog breeds who attack the people.

Yeah, it was happened to my friend as well - see my previous posts about her.

Hmmm...interesting list thou I'm not very surprised that pit bulls made number one on the most dangerous dog breeds list...seeing that they are proably the strongest dogs there ever is.

yes that's right. If you can't handle any certain animal, don't get it. BTW - that TOP 10 list... I STRONGLY disagree with it. Please ignore it because this article is very very ignorant and narrow-mind. But there's one statement that is correct from this blog article - "Dogs most often make wonderful pets, however in certain circumstances, any type of dog can be dangerous. Even friendly dogs, can inflict great harm in the wrong circumstance." (this statement is no different from Surgeon General's warning found on many products and it's no brainer)

It's simple. very simple - big dogs are tough. You have to be tougher to handle them! :cool2:

That is why I stick with my Little Chihuahuas. :D

That is why I stick with my Little Chihuahuas. :D

I got attacked by a mean Chihuahua and my chin required
9 stitches! so dont tell me that these kind of dogs are
sweet, lol! all kinds of dogs DO BITE, regardless, same
as cats. Oh yeah, i got bitten by cats numerous times.

Yeah, i know that..my point is that all exotic, wild animals
should not be pets, that is what im saying, ok.

On "Today" show this morning, Charla Nash's twin brother
talked about her extensive injuries that was so devastating
even her own daughter was so shocked by it. The injuries
that she suffered were, her hands, her eyes which she could
be blind, brain damage.
She will need several surgeries in the future, thats why the
family is setting up a trust to help with expenses. They are
considering a lawsuit too.
I dont know if any of you seen this show this morning?

I wouldnt be surprised if he sued Travis' owner, Herold for this mess. Of course, we all know it was an accident and she DID try to save her friend. So, I know she has very greatly regretted for what happened and she should've learned her lesson from all this so I know she wont get another ape as a pet again. She wants to help her friend too so is that wrong?

So lets see where it goes.

I know they do bite. As in any animal. They may bite. But I am sure I can handle a Chihuahua better than a huge Great Dane.

I was not saying they are ALL sweet. My two are sweet. :D

WOW! 9 Stitches! Dang!! That must have been one pissed off little bastard.

That is why I stick with my Little Chihuahuas. :D

awwww I envy you.... I wish to own chihuahuas because I like to carry them like cat... but my 3 guys do not want to have "toy dog" (they call it) because they feel that they walk too fast than tiny dog... :giggle:

I love chihuahuas´s cute face...

Mistyrose, yes I am aware that not all chihuahuas are friendly dog. I´m very sorry that you got bite by chihuahuas and got 8 stitches on your chin... :(
