The next, next winter storm

You guys are depressing me ;) that's the year I graduated high school. I don't remember it lol but I lived in NH at the time, we got dumped on all winter every winter maybe that's why it doesn't stand out.....kind of like standard normal winter weather...... For there.
 
I lived in NC for a bit as a kid, on Seymour Johnson (just think about what an awful name that is for a minute) probably somewhere between 81-83 it snowed quite a bit, or at least it seemed like a lot to me. I'd never seen it before, we lived on Keasler AFB in Biloxi Mississippi before that. We didn't have gloves so my mom put socks on our hands so we could play in it.
 
I was at gally 93 if we got hit with a storm I must Of been to drunk or hungover to remember..I really have no memory of those years. Storm or not.
Sometimes a vague fog will come back but just when I shake my head to remember, where was I? I must of got bail as .................
don't get depressed ambrosia.
As far I know 93 wasn't worth remembering anyway
 
Wow Seymour Johnson ....I might use that as an alias one day......
If I could keep a straight face while signing it
(Lights cigarette, inhales deeply trying to remember the early 90s, exhales smoke that dissipates as memories do........)

Oh it's not depressing that I don't remember it, it's depressing thinking about how long ago I graduated high school :laugh2:

Im sure I am. I figure if anything of that decade is worth remembering I'd remember it.
I do remember being invited to our high school reunion and thinking to myself before I downed a couple of shots
damn!!! That went quick.
Ah well

When I lived in Houston area, in fall or winter of 1994 we were hit with endless rains and several areas got flooded to waist deep. Cars couldn't go anywhere, schools were closed for a week. Fortunately students did not have to make up, and off to graduation I go.

Yeah, it was pretty good... I walked home all the way from downtown and then detoured to walk even further to meet my friend for dinner!

I wasn't cold or bothered by it, I had my glasses to keep the wind out of my eyes and a 'buff' (stretchy motorcycle head and neck warmer) to cover my mouth and nose.

Watching the snow go swirling off is amazing, the only issue with the wind really was I walk fast and was trying to get past slow people!
 
We went out for SKI with 10 degrees. whoa!! we made it through and the snow was not bad.

Believe Seymour Johnson is an Air Force Base...if memory is correct.

It is, I think I mentioned that maybe. All of a sudden I'm realizing some deaf people might not realize why it's so bad. Not sure if "Johnson" as a slang word ever crossed over into ASL, it's a word for penis......and Seymour is pronounced see more........see more johnson. :laugh2::laugh2: I swear sometimes I'm a teenage boy :D
 
I just took a look-see outside, and what do I see but Chicago getting beaten up once again. After this storm leaves, we're in for some DEEP FREEZE cold. My stepmom tells me that Southern IL will feel like -40 by Wednesday. Yikes!! Hey, Foxrac!! Better be ready for this!!

Central Alabama is more milder than Chicago - tomorrow, we will see high 45 F and low 18 F.

In Chicago, I think it will be below 0 F.
 
Way below. We're talking -35 to -45 below. This is gonna hit hard. Take a look at some of my other links above.
 
Just checked the weather I guess it's definitely going to hit us this time they've named it winter storm Leon ... it isn't if it's going to happen now it's just how bad it's going to be ... its showing it will affect the entire east cost all the way down into Texas ...

REBA: there is an ice storm warning in effect for Charleston beginning Tuesday afternoon...

rockin^robin: if your sister hasn't already left ya'll may want to check her route or maybe reschedule her trip especially if she is driving...

It is -8 here already..... and getting worse.

Checking my local forecast, and now it's -9. Let's see what it says for here.

Nothing major for here..... just the Wind Chill Warning, and the Small Craft Warning. No major winter storms for here.
