The Lounge thread: Whatever you feel like......... Anything goes! Part XI

I just finished reading my second book into my research paper of deaf education, so I thought I would take a break to goof off here on alldeaf while I eat my dinner. With two days still left in the weekend, I hope to have part of my third book read and noted into my word program. Im starting to formulate some questions for my interviews - which I still haven't scheduled. (argh!) While there are a plethora of materials written on deaf education, they all seem to reference to each other and to the same sources with slightly different interpretations of the research findings. Its rather tedious, yes, but hopefully with the third book which was published in the 90s, should offer some new information, as well as anything from some online sources. This can be beneficial however as I can say in the first half of the paper that this is the research presented 20+ years ago, and with the new information, I can say these are the improvements made in deaf education and the new findings that are becoming of great help to the deaf society.

Lord, Im beginning to sound as dry as the books I've been reading, lol.

Doing good!

The only excitement that we had around here was going shopping in Astoria and when we were coming across the bridge--we could see where the fire was as it gutted out 5 businesses in the downtown historic district!

The fire started at 11pm last night and was still going strong at 7am this morning.

good idea. Those stores are open on Sunday in your area? you're very lucky... everything's closed on sunday in here.

Ive got a part of my third book read I've decided to put it up for the night as I am getting fuzzy-eyed. Right now Im poring through Deaf Learners: Developments in Curriculum and Instruction, Donald F. Moores and David S. Martin, Eds. 2006 Washington D.C.: Gallaudet UP  Boring but not as dry as the last two books I've pored over. With the plethora of sources I plan to go through I feel like I should be able to get into a decent conversation with Shel90, Jolie77 and Jillio in regards to deaf education, lol.

Ive also gone through a whole can of coffee today,

Oh for some more entertaining content check out this vlog:

I went thru 2 large cups of coffee today and i don't know why it's not having much effect on me. Neither do 3 cans of Red Bull. that's why I made appointment with neurologist/psychiatrist for next friday to get some Provigil 250mg drugs... I think I am narcoleptic but I'll need an expert to officially determine that so that my insurance can cover that medication... otherwise it's $380 out of my pocket.

I am envious of my friend who is hyper-sensitive to even half of Red Bull.....

What is narcoleptic? or is it some sort of your brain functioning in the weird hours of the night, si?

somewhat. Narcolepsy there are a few kinds of narcolepsy - Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS), cataplexy, hallucation, and sleep paralysis. Mine's EDS.

Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS): In general, EDS interferes with normal activities on a daily basis, whether or not a person with narcolepsy has sufficient sleep at night. People with EDS report mental cloudiness, a lack of energy and concentration, memory lapses, a depressed mood, and/or extreme exhaustion.

Jiro should enter a 12-step program in his area...... the first step should be towards his bed!

Actually I can drink Red-Bull and it has no affect on me. I can ingest a blackjack- nada nuffin, I can consume enormous amounts of caffeine in short order and nuffin.

I did try to go to bed and I just stare at ceiling, tumble around and 2 hours pass by.... 3 hours.... it is very frustrating. The only way to get me to sleep is to get very exhausted so I do that on computer.

having trouble deciding which one to get... Dell Vostro... Latitude.... or Inspiron... 13-14" widescreen. price for each to my configuration is nearly same... $800ish.

What are you looking for? I do not know what you're blabbing about.
