lol... i'm at work and well - it's got heater and my office window has sun view. you'd be surprised how fast the sun view can heat up your room even in freezing weather.

Yeah...aka greenhouse effect. ;)

having an office with southern exposure must be nice! my apartment faces the north, so i don't receive any direct sunlight until the summer months.

and the irony is.... i would be unhappy camper in summer but hopefully the A/C will be cranked up enough to keep it cool.

has anyone ever been to Detroit Auto Show?

Well I made the trip up to Seattle safely.

The good news was there wasn't much snow on the roads but the side streets are he**ish in the city!

Anyway--my mother finally joined the techno age and got a computer--so I'm posting from her house.

i always have my a/c turned up high during the summer to make up for the direct sunshine in my living room. i also close the blinds a little. i'm just glad i don't live in one of the apartments who has southern exposure (although my apartment is one door away from one that does) because they get direct sunlight all day and it gets downright HOT during the summer.

i've never been there myself, but i have watched a great deal about it on tv. why? are you planning on going? if you have any questions about detroit, i may be able to answer them since i attended a guide dog school for training in rochester hills, michigan and part of our training was done in the city of detroit.

I know you're blind, but how can you watch TV? *confused*

I am DONE with SHOPPING! I hate deal with it during holidays! ugh! Next year I'll try to finish shopping by November! Wait and see! People were crazy out there...long lines...traffic was awful...I went to another way to avoid the traffic..good trick! hee!

We did finish shopping today also. The traffic was terrible, but we did get some good buys since we had to shop last minute.:)

yes, i can watch tv. some blind people don't care to, but i like to watch documentaries, public television, cnn and other news channels and some movies. if i stick to watching tv programs that have alot of dialogue, watching tv is quite enjoyable. if, however, i watch a program (or movie) with very little dialogue and lots of action, that's when i need a sighted friend or family member to describe to me what is happening on the screen.

lol you can just listen to tv

exactly, but when there is very little dialogue, that's when i need help from family members or friends to tell me what is happening in a movie or tv program.

Hear Again...do u ever wish u can see? Lots of people ask me if I ever wish I could hear...when I was younger, it was all I could wish for but now I dont care anymore. Just curious about about your view?

after seeing my new psychiatrist yesterday and needing new refills on my meds, i had to trek close to 3 miles in the snow today and let me tell you, it was no easy task. i also had to stop at the bank to run an errand (fortunately my pharmacy and bank are on the same block) and then stop to get my hair done for christmas. i left my home at 1:30 and it took me a good 2 hours to walk back home. one of my pet peeves was walking across a sidewalk that was clear, then finding knee deep snow and then reaching the corner only to discover that they weren't shoveled making me have to find a driveway and then walk in the street. i HATE winter. *sigh*
