I'm at work, wanting to go HOME!!!!!!!! This stupid printer is too slow and I'm so ready to hit it! I'm crusing on AllDeaf while my stuff prints for next week.

I'm really starting to hate my new job. The people who work here are real jerks. :( I miss my friends. *pity party time?*

Sometimes I feel like that, and go home and watch Office Space. I know I'm not the only one who does that :)

It's only November, but summer's already here.

Was too bloody hot to sleep last night - didn't get to sleep until 5AM.

Put some steriods on the printer, it'll do your job really quickly!

Wanna trade places? It's autumn here and it won't be long before snow is in the air. With the exception of being able to go downhill skiing, winter totally depresses me. :(

I have bronchitis =S I think it's because I've been seeing my doctor too much, and he got annoyed with me and decided to teach me a lesson. :giggle:

I thought briefly about going back because I was feeling an intense pain in my left ear whenever I would cough or yawn, but that has gone away on its own.

I'm SO so tired of being drugged!

I had bronchitis last year -- not fun! :(

I know what you mean about pain. A few months ago I had the most excrutiating pain in my left wrist and upper arm which my doctor could find no explanation for. It seems that once the weather changes from hot to cold I'm always subject to severe pain in my left wrist/arm. The pain is so debilitating that I have to put my arm in a sling until the painkillers my doctor gives me take effect.

To make matters worse, over the past few weeks I've been experiencing significant weakness in my left hand (I'm left handed) making it difficult to pick up/hold objects and impossible to turn a key in my apartment door. I plan to call my doctor on Monday for an appointment to find out what may be going on.

Hope you feel better soon, SimplyMints! :)

Come here and go skiing! :D

How much snow do you get there during an average winter? Here it varies from year to year. Last December was the second snowiest ever. I'm hoping we won't break that record this season. :giggle:

Thanks :) I've been missing how it used to be lately. I'm not exactly sure just what it is I'm missing, but I'm missing something from my past, and I want to recapture that feeling somehow.

Are you left-handed? I'm left-handed, so I can see how that would be a problem trying to get a key to turn if it's hurting your wrist. I certainly have a lot more pain when it's cold. People wonder why I keep my apartment so warm, and really it's because it brings my pain level down to almost nothing. And the heat bill costs a lot less than prescription pain medicine, and it's better on my liver too! Besides, am I the only one who can usually breathe warmer air better than colder air? People think I'm weird because of that.

Oh nuts, the mice are back. Looks like I've got work to do. Why does this happen when I'm sick? Oh. Maybe I get sick because this happens! I want an electromagnetic field that surrounds my house and detects whenever a mouse crosses a certain boundary, then zaps it with a directed discharge.

You mentioned me having pain in my left wrist. The funny thing is, I don't have any pain -- just weakness. I thought I might have some mild arthritis, but since I'm not having any pain, it makes me wonder what else it could be.

You're just like me. Call me strange, but I have the thermostat in my apartment set to 70 degrees. My sister hates this and complains about how hot my apartment is every time she visits because she's the kind of person who likes it cold. Not me -- I like to be warm and cozy. :)

I know what you mean about breathing cold air. I don't have asthma or respiratory allergies (although I have year round allergies to pollen, dust and mold), but I do have difficulty breathing in cold temperatures. For whatever reason, it makes me cough as if I have a bad cold. To get around this problem, I carry a pack of Halls with me whenever I travel outdoors during the winter months.

And yes, I'm a "lefty." :)

You're right, this seems just like me! It's interesting to make these discoveries to me. I seem to be in the minority with almost everything about me. Everybody in my family has brown and black hair and a clear or dark complexion. I'm a redhead with freckles all over my body. I'm the only deaf person I've met in over 10 years. I'm left-handed, and I collect My Little Pony. I could go on forever. I'm even the minority within minorities. Except for one: I'm not deaf-blind. I hope this isn't offensive, but I hope I never lose my sight. However, I remember very well how scared I was when I found out I was gonna lose my hearing, and it turns out now that it's gone, I don't want it back, and I should not have feared losing it. People tell me that if they were to lose their hearing, they wouldn't be able to cope as well as I have. I don't believe them. Who knows? Maybe losing my vision would be just the same. However, I just can't fathom eating food I can't see! That would make me really uncomfortable!

ps: All my doctors currently believe that my vision is safe, and I'm not in danger of losing it. Just wanted to clarify in case my post is misleading.

In the mountains, on average about 400-500 inches of snowfall in a season. The snowpack runs high as 150-200 inches or so on the ground at peak on a good season.

That's okay, SimplyMints. I'm not offended. :)

Whenever people tell me they could never cope with being totally deafblind, I always respond by saying "You don't know how you would react until it happens. Who knows? You might be surprised at how well you actually adjust." I admit that after I lost my hearing, I had an extremely difficult time with acceptance. However, once I received counseling, learned alternative communication techniques for the deafblind (especially tactile sign) and met other deafblind people like me at an American Association of the Deaf-Blind (AADB) convention, my outlook completely changed.

I feel the same way you do about my hearing. I had severe-profound hearing loss 10 years prior to receiving my first CI and now that I'm totally deaf without my CIs, I've learned to live with the silence. In fact, I've grown to like it (especially at night when I can sleep without being disturbed by noises :giggle:). The only reasons I chose to receive CIs were for my own personal safety when traveling outdoors (since I was constantly veering into traffic whenever I used my white cane) and the fact that some of the communication techniques I used were extremely slow (i.e. print on palm/pop, Braille/raised print alphabet card, Teletouch).

Even though I have CIs, I would still be comfortable functioning as a totally deafblind person if my implants ever failed.

Personally, I think I have the best of both worlds. :)

LAst night my DD and I went to the movies to watch Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. She really enjoyed the movie but I sort of enjoyed it as I couldnt fully keep up with the dialogue. I wasnt so much concerned about me enjoying a children's cartoon, the movie was for her entertainment, so it was worth it.

Today I plan to get out and get some fall foliage photos around the area. This evening I may upload them to my photobucket account then post her in AD.com for you to view. This is the first Saturday Ive had in ages where I didnt have any plans keeping me from my shutterbug ways!

I'm definitely glad the pain is gone, but am curious what it was. Did you find out what your pain was caused by? I wonder if it actually had something to do with my oral surgery I had a few weeks ago.

Mine was from a severe ear infection.

It took me a year to make one friend at my job when I first got it. I am sorry that people are not being nice to you. I hope you befriend someone soon. Even having one friend at work is better than having many surface friends. Good luck!
