I just wake up recently and dunno what will have breakfast :hmm: i will have skip for that :giggle: and thanks god it's FRIDAY woot!

i feel like i'm living in a giant oven...
so effing hot, even at 12AM!

Is it wrong for me to be jealous of a CODA? I know one and his skills are freaking amazing!! Here I am struggling and tearing my hair out by the root to learn this (awesome) language and then there's...HIM. He fools deaf people all the time. They always seem suprised when he reveals he's a hearie.
:jaw:

But your in Brissy mate. Its bloody hot down there this time of year. Are they having many bush fires out there?

It is snowing a lot here.

Ha! We won't see snow here until probably January or early February and it'll only last about a week. The rest of the time its warm enough for mosquitos. I swatted one off my arm this afternoon when I got off work and I was like ICK its bloody November, those little farts should have been long dead by now.

There is no need to be jealous of a CODA. Im deaf/hoh as well but I grew up in an all oral environment and Im in the learning process of ASL. It doesnt come over night, but don't give up. Just spend more time practicing with your friends and you'll come along.

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps has a freakishly long torso.

Are you a good swimmer, Jiro?:giggle:

yes if I recall correctly he is quite literally built like a fish. His hands and feet are bigger than normal for a guy of his size. His arm span is longer than his hieght and he has bony ankles wich makes him more streamlined in the water.

It is snowing a lot here.

Hope you are bundled up.

It's raining here--

2 inches of rain town nights ago, 1.5 inch of rain yesterday, and we are suppose to get 2-3 inches of rain today with more tomorrow....

Take a picture of the snow to share with us!

Thanks. I know should be more patient with myself but sometimes i just get frustrated with it. Being a perfectionist doesn't exactly help my case much.

Just found out I'm probably going to a thanksgiving dinner with my extended family. That will be weird for me. I hate having to talk about my deafness to everybody, and they're all gonna ask, and they're all gonna ask me the same dumb questions like "why don't you just get a better hearing aid" or "what about I heard there were implants you could get" and stuff that obviously I already know about because this is my life. That's why I use the term "totally deaf" because "profoundly deaf" still has options that I don't have.

Then, I'm gonna sit at the table and eat and watch everybody eat while they talk, and I don't have a clue what they're saying because I don't know which moving mouth to look at.

Fortunately, I know my sister doesn't enjoy these things either, and we'll probably go to the living room afterwards or somewhere with fewer people, and we will sign with each other about how we wish we could go home. Misery loves company.

Simple: Just have Thanksgiving with you and your sister if there is a way....

Now I know exactly how you feel! I too am a perfectionist, though my perfectionist nature diminishes a bit when I'm sick. But don't worry! Just learn the best you can, and once you feel comfortable with the language, THEN your perfectionist nature will become really handy for your personal benefit! You'll have nothing to lose by figuring out how to be the perfect signer, which are very rare, so I hope you don't get easily annoyed by grammatical errors!

How's everyone doing? Been busy in the last few days and probably will be busy in the next few days. Hope all is well here!

I think we're gonna have a separate thanksgiving with just my parents and her and her husband and me. Our parents are slowly learning to sign, and her husband plans to learn to sign, though he's looking to start with formal ASL. The rest of us sign a sloppy combination of ASL, PSE, and SEE, so maybe I should hit the books on ASL =S Anyway, that's a more comfortable group for me because they know me and don't annoy me with dumb questions about my hearing, and they know how to talk to me so that I understand what they're saying. Especially my sister because she is a very skilled signer. In our own private amalgamation of sign language. :giggle:

I have bronchitis =S I think it's because I've been seeing my doctor too much, and he got annoyed with me and decided to teach me a lesson. :giggle:

I thought briefly about going back because I was feeling an intense pain in my left ear whenever I would cough or yawn, but that has gone away on its own.

I'm SO so tired of being drugged!

I'm definitely glad the pain is gone, but am curious what it was. Did you find out what your pain was caused by? I wonder if it actually had something to do with my oral surgery I had a few weeks ago.
