whoa Byrdie.... you're SO lucky to have cell phone with you. I have a lower back problem and I know exactly how you feel. I couldn't get up due to my back problem twice in my life. It was a horrible and painful experience. My mom had to help me get up the bed and it took like an hour. It was exhausting.
Since then.... I worked out to strengthened the back muscle and I haven't gotten much back problem. What's wrong with yours? Mine was due to weak muscle support around the lower back and a horrible muscle hypertension.
btw - did EMT break in or wha? was the door unlocked?
What started it was that I was pianting a bathroom and when I went to straightend myself up--I backed into the bathroom sink--HARD.
The EMT's came into my kitchen as it was opened. I was walking into the kitchen when the swinging door hit my back and that's how I ended up on the floor.
goddam.... well it's good to hear you're up and about
I was so embarrassed yesterday afternoon!
I had a doctor's appointment--chiropractor-- and came home. I had to use the crutches to help me walk into the house.
I was walking into the kitchen and it happend.
I fell......and couldn't get up. There was nobody here and I was laying on the floor.
I tried calling a friend of mine to see if they were in the area to no avail since I had the cell phone on me.
So I called 911. " What's your emergency?" said the operator.
"I've fallen and I can't get up!"
While I was waiting for 911 to come, I tried to see if I was able to roll on my side to no avail since I have a lower back problem.
The ambulance arrived--thank god--no lights-- and came in and after 10 minutes, got me up again!
This morning I have to go back to chiropractor and luckily this time around--I'll have somebody with me to make sure I get back into the house okay!
Wow! Good thing you are ok!
Thanks everyone!
I just never thought I would say, "I've fallen and couldn't get up" like in those Medic Emergency commercials.....
The EMT's came in and said, "Whoa!"
I guess they didn't expect a late 30/early 40 something on the floor that is
6'9!
6'9.. wow! For once in my life, I'd give anything to look down at people than look up!
It must be a strain on your back or joints being that tall??

I couldnt help but laugh at his response to the 911 operator! LOL.
HELP IVE FALLEN AND I GET UP!
Im glad your OK now Byrdie. Take it easy next time wouldja?
yes it does... the curse of being tall. Even though I'm only 5'6".... my torso is "abnormally" longer than normal... which is a typical problem found in tall people.
