I find it funny that you are saying the rest of us are forgetfull. Talk about seeing flaws in others but not in yourself.

Funny, you remember when Banjo fresh your memory. You remember now.

Banjo answered is good enough to remind you that it´s not just Katrina. Many countries around the world offered their support to victims in America and other countries.

We (including myself) volunteered donated money to 9/11, Katrina, Rita and more victims, not just America but other countries as well. Many countries around the world support America and other countries, not just America.

Yes you forget very quickly when you ask for source... I do not need to ask you for source because I didn´t forget what and how America or other countries support other countries.

Excuse me, who ? Of course YOU... I would suggest you to search Katrina threads yourself. You should shame yourself for your ignorant and arrogance talk.

That was one disaster that they helped....any others?

Probably not.

can you help me name other disasters we've had in America cuz it'll help narrow down my search? My memory's very shitty.

That's great to hear. and I know that USA is thankfull for the aid given. I have to say that I'm not surprised that Canada has helped USA out in the past. However, USA and Canada has a history of taking care of themselves while helping other counties whenever they can.

You remember now that it´s not just America. :ty: for some ADers to fresh your memory. Some ADers do not need to ask me for source because they remember.

Banjo, don't forget the half dozen canoes Canada's Navy sent, too! Lol...J/K, man!

No....it's because you allow them to do your dirty work since you can't defend your position.

I assume that everyone knows that many countries around the world offer their support each other thru newspaper, TV news, don´t they? Why should I post extra source for him when some ADers remembered before and after my first post. I have read and saw TV news, that´s why I don´t bother to ask or demand for source because I did not forget how many countries around the world support each other, when it´s not just America. We posted in many threads in the past which is good enough.

If you are still bitter then I feel sorry for you.

If it´s really true, then why can´t they reject our support offer then?
Usually when they send aid - there's some political deal or political obligation/favor attached to it (no such thing as free soup!!). For ie - I will send you $100,000,000 and some supplies.... if you promise to voice my concern for next United Nation meeting for ---- issue. Their debts owed to USA can also be used as foreign aid back to them but I guess USA refuses to accept that as if they want to keep them on its leash. I noticed that the some foreign aids were rejected by government but $50 million went toward to 2 private groups like Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund and Red Cross. hhhmmm what's going on... fraud? using money for personal expenses or to pay the cronies?

who knows? :dunno2: just a wild crazy conspiracy theory

Katrina struck. I was in a harbor on the Gulf Coast, comforting a dear friend. We'd watched a group of Navy Seals who'd been diving into the harbor, searching for boats and bodies. The rubber, inflatable boat they were using had a flag on it: Canada.

2 weeks of rain struck. I was in a huge city that had been going through flooding. The flooding was predicted while the amount of people affected was not expected. I was called into the emergency room to assist. When I got there, a deaf man was surrounded by five Polish soldiers who'd brought him.

Growing up in Midwestern United States, I am no stranger to tornados. A town, not more than 6 miles away, was completely obliterated by three tornados. The people were devastated. The National Guard was there. I'd chipped in to help, like most everyone there. If you didn't help and stood around stunned, you were the one who'd lost everything. I'd reached down for a big piece of lumber. It was too large and a soldier helped me out before recruiting others to help. I'll never forget thinking that it was funny that they wore funny hats and they had (with my young understanding at the time) the Confederate Flag on their uniform.

These are just three that I can recount outside of 7 experiences. My proof is my experience. Perhaps they were military exercises so that other nations may be better prepared. Perhaps they were, coincidentally, there during a goodwill exchange. Perhaps they just wanted to do it.

I think it absurdly funny that a group of people demand proof without giving proof in the first place.

Sigh...I tried to start a thread that would be touching and encouraging to Americans....

It is!

We just have a certain individual who likes to continually bash Americans and wants Americans to feel bad about themselves and essentially "kiss-their-European-A**."

Which I am not going to do! :)

I'm sure it is a reciprocal thing, either volunteering or via contract. Why would you want to be so isolationist?
U remember we need those firefighter planes before Oct and we can not use them till Oct. So how can we want be so isolationist when we keep losing those homes to fire every year?

I do agree that there is a "certain someone" who keeps posting topics that makes the rest of us wonder if s/he is trying to belittle or be condescending.

I found the article flattering and most fitting for the American world view. We have a greater amount of resources than most countries with a determined spirit unmatched. I applaud Reba's intent.

The article, on the other hand, is misinformed.

I unds but it bothers me sometime when we think we are better than other countries. We should be fortunely to be able to help them many time over again and again but not to brag about it.

You might have a point but that is for another thread, right? Let's stick to the spirit and intent of what Reba posted.
