Texting while driving video (It may be too graphic)

Regardless on laws, I have use texting for emergencies only and depends on road condition as well.

I already explained in last post and you seems not get my word, I'm going let you to be on own to say.
Pull off the road

Pull off the road

No thanks, I'm not going waste of my time to pull it off for just 1 unread message or sent short 1 message.

Additional, I will pull it off if I have complete conservation.

I'm back. Yep 2 close-call incidents today. They were just unaware of me and no they were not yakking on phone or txting. oh well

:dunno:

Maximum penalty for those who text and drive!!

Throw the keys away.
Lock them up in the dungeons.
Torture them!
Put them on a stretch rack.
Pummel them senselessly.
Gouge out their eyes.
Hear them scream....

Ok. How about a heavy fine, jail time and even have their cell phone consfiscated and destroyed, instead?

Great idea. Ban them from ever being able to subscribe to texting service for the rest of their lives. Done!

Unless cell phone companies are willing to do that or that a law can be passed to ensure that this could be done.

You are a fool!

What? You don't know about me.

Remember, no provoking or bashing allowed so I don't appreciate your comment.

I know enough based on your posts that indicate you will choose to continue to drive and text. My response to that is you are a fool if you do that. There is no provoking or bashing about it. I made and educated opinion about you based on your comments. Based on the in context definition of fool, my opinion is spot on. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Main Entry: fool
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French fol, from Late Latin follis, from Latin, bellows, bag; akin to Old High German bolla blister, balg bag — more at belly
Date: 13th century
1 : a person lacking in judgment or prudence

Speaking of cell phone blocker built in all commercial vehicles... How are they going to do, if they need to call for assistance in case of emergency?

How about a little challenge then? Find us a statistic that shows a difference in speed rate between a cell, a payphone which 911 is free and a local nearby landline to call 911 on.

I'd be interested to see the difference in all that.

Don't forget some cells have trouble spots in areas that may be out of range from a cell tower or mountains or areas that hinders cell waves.

Yiz

Could be but no doubt that texting while driving is just as dangerous, if not more, than drunk drivers. A good portion of the 40,000+ people that die in car crashes are from drunk drivers.

IT IS DANGEROUS

One news team conducted a low-speed open course test to check reaction time while texting at 10 mph. When the person behind the wheel sent a text message, he had traveled 29 feet in only a few seconds. Even at this low speed, there could be a disastrous accident.

A recent accident that took the lives of 5 high school graduates may have been caused by texting and driving. Just moments before Bailey Goodman’s car swerved into the path of a tractor-trailer she had sent and received several text messages.

I go back to "What did we do before Cell Phones?" There were and are radios in most of these vehicles. It comes back to my original comment, "Commen Sense needs to be legislated, because it is not common anymore...

payphone? it's becoming scarce around here since majority of people have cellphones. most cellphones have GPS-built in as mandated by federal government for 911 purpose. 911 is free for cellphone as well.

I'd be interested to see the difference in all that.

payphone is hard to find so that will increase the time delay in getting help. Cellphone still remains the most effective tool in getting help. Just like school shootings and US Airways 1549 (Hudson River crash) - yes few passengers txted prior to crash.

They still have radios in current cars. Lot of hearing folks still use them to listen to news, music, radio shows, etc while on the road. My friend was riding with me and was listening to the radio constantly all the way to Yellowstone.
