DFM - if your'e not being serious please leave the thread immediately this is not a pro-ana thread, we are here to promote healthy ways of losing weight.

Darkangel - they have many of the named restaurants in Australia including McDonald's, Subway, KFC, and other smaller Australian fast food chains. Although I am sure certain chains are not as popular down there as they are here in the States.

They also have Starbucks down there. :D
 
I did sneak a peak at the scale in my parents' bathroom and noticed I did gain some weight, but I didn’t get depressed or beat myself up for that, I simply allowed myself to enjoy the holiday and relax with my family. I also have been working on the emotional issues, the negative thinking of feeling that I can not lose the weight but I know I’ll be able to reach my goal after the holiday is over with, I know I've said this last year on New Year's resolutions but however with the wedding plans and with everything that's been going on put a lot of stress in me, but next year should be better, I plan on sticking with my goal to lose the weight, so I can feel much healthier and proud that I was able to do it without feeling despressed...

Remember the Holiday is a time of joy, connection, and love and definitely not a time to be on a diet. So, appreciate the delicious food served over the holidays! I'll be back after the holiday is over with...:D

Thats OK Angel - I just stay on my diet for the most part except for the days we are feasting and for 2-3 days stuffing myself I eat lots of fiber and drink lots of fluid to help digest all that extra stuff then Im back on track.

sorry to go off topic here, but Miss-Delectable, what fast food are in Australia like do they have mcdonald? wendy? taco bell? kfc? I am actually curious lol.

Dixie's correct. We have McDonalds, KFC, Burger King but we call it Hungry Jack, Subway, Starbucks and Pizza Hut plus now we have Dominos (eeeww). Australian chain's Red Rooster. Actually McDonalds the most popular franchise here. In fact, one town could have three or more McDonalds, no joke.

We used to have Taco Bell but I think now we only have one in the state. No Wendy, though. You can find Wendy's in New Zealand.

The most popular takeout in Australia is Fish and Chips. JClarke, Koala and Opal can verify this fact.

cool, i believe you about the mcdonald. my city of 90 000 there is hmm at least 5 or 6 mcdonald, but its not as much as tim horton, u can drive anywhere without seeing one.

as for taco bell, i think it is getting less and less of taco bell, i guess it not as popular. but thanks for the information its kinda strange to think somewhere as far as Australia, where there is a opposite season and time, that they would have the same fast food restaurants as in Canada.

I would love to go to australa to see the koala bears otehr animals there. hehe.
 
Ahh, Tim Horton! It's been years since I last was in one. They had good hot drinks if I remember right but their donuts are kinda sweet. Too sweet for lil' old moi.
 
The good thing about visiting AUS is that you can already speak the language for the most part and they still have 'American' fast food joints available. Although whilst down there, you'd be mandated to try the fish and chips, :lol: I know I would!

I just wish I could get down there to visit for a week or two!

I would but unfortunately i don't like sea food lol.
 
Its not really sea food IMO- Fish and Chips is pretty much the equivalent of Fried Catfish and French Fries except beer is involved and the way the fries are cooked to make them 'chips'.

My doctor told me that each slice of cheese has 100 calories. So really its not that healthful to eat alot of cheese. Dang for me too as I am a cheeselover as well.

Here is a healthy tip to get your cheese fix. Broccoli and cheese bakes. You don't eat quite as much cheese and broccoli is healthy. Although I hate broccoli.

I am working on eating cheese less. It is working good so far. What I did was not go out and buy a huge block of cheese everytime I ran out. It is so easy for me not to crave it during the day but at night before I go to bed, the cravings become so unbearable.

I started drinking water with freshly squeezed lemon juice and now my soda intake has gone down.

I am not sure how much I have lost since I posted here.

I have been running in the basement, doing jabs on the punching bag and sit ups. I told my hubby I want a TV and exercise tapes for the basement. I am getting into a routine now.
 
OK for those of you attempting the Subway diet - beware Subway sandwhiches can make ya fat!

I have been doing some experimenting with some low cal combinations that are still quite flavorful, like today for lunch me and my DD went to Subway and I ordered a 6 inch subway Club Sandwhich on wheat bread with swiss cheese, lettuce and tomatoes for condiments and ONE LINE of mayonnaise, I looked on the napkin and it happened to have the club sandwhich on there - the overall caloric value was just under 400 calories. It filled me up and still had flavor but without the added fat and calories.

I have been told that all the breads except for wheat and white bread are hand rolled so the caloric value of them will vary and you have to go light on the sauces.

Unfortunately there are still many people (including one in my own family) that think that a footlong Italian BMT in Parmesean Bread loaded with extra cheese and think that because it has lettuce on it, the extra fat and calories won't go to their hips. Unfortunately subway doesn't have a magic powder to sprinkle on the sandwhiches to make them completely fat and calorie free :giggle: dont even mention the potato chips and soft drink that have around 400 calories combined.

so for a healthy subway sandwhich you can only have a 6 inch sandwhich on wheat or white bread, no extra cheese and only ONE LINE of any sauce you choose. And stay away from fatty meats like pepperoni, salami and ham and go for leaner meats like turkey and roast beef. No chips and a diet coke and your meal will be filling and you wont go overboard. :)

I guess it is a good thing that I am not a fan of Subway. However, I am always craving Mexican foods. LOL!

Let me know how it works out for you, if you need to switched to a new diet plan, look under my signature. I do know not one diet works well with everyone it all depends upon the individuals. I used to be on a diet plan called, South Beach Diet unfortunate it wasn't even working out for me.

I do hope MediTrim is working well for you, if not you can always change your diet plan to something that will work just for you. Good luck!! ;)
 
I have lost weight WOOHOO! Ive managed to drop 5 pounds Thank Goodness!

Wow, I usually lose weight in the summer but not this past summer cuz I was drinking hot coco but should be drinking water. Duh me. Still drinking hot coco but nothing else. Sometimes I drink milk then I will be fine. I do want to lose about 12 lbs. I want to eat healthy foods so sick of junk food.

Every Saturday morning and Sunday nite, my son and I go bowling for the team and I buy soda. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I think I will have to change my habit on that one from now on.

eat small amount foods as same size your fist hand ... Don't eat after Dinner 5 p.m. between 6 then till tomorrow a.m.!!!! :):):)
