That's your opinion.
Yup, same here.
Shawn use views that based on evolution, it's his opinion, anyway.

Which is the spread of STDs, right? If people lived more chaste lives and honored their marriage vows there would be fewer cases of STDs. So it's relevant to the topic.
It was Shel that start to brought the religious discussion and cause some members to discuss about religion.
Shel didn't cause anyone to do anything. She simply commented on the content of an article that was posted.
Again, this topic is about sex, the rise of STDs and the failure of abstinence only sex ed.
The High Priest and King of the universe performed the marriage ceremony for Adam and Eve.There are people that are living together that aren't married. They don't need a marriage contract to have sex with one another.
Afterall--God didn't give them a piece of paper to tell them to start screwin' with one another now did He/She?

It wouldn't stop Reba from discuss when other member who made comment or question over religion at first place.

If people honored their marriage vows, there would be fewer cases of STDs. This is true. However, they don't. How can we fix this? Marriage vows 101?
If people practice abstinence, there would be fewer cases of STDs. This is true. However, we have already spent a lot of money for those programs. Is it getting better? Nope.
If people practiced safe sex, there would be fewer cases of STDs. This is true. Have we even really tried promoting sex education plus safe sex practices?
We are looking for RESULTS not "if only they just...".
But I am putting a stop to it now.
In the real world people aren't supposed to murder or steal either but we don't say it's unrealistic to tell people don't murder or steal.Discussion of the Bible isn't relevant to the topic.
And, quite obviously, people are not living chaste lives, given the rise in STDs. Especially teens who are given abstinence only education are not living chaste lives. It has already been shown through research that chastity is not realistic, and that teens who are provided with abstinence only education are at greater risk for contracting STDs and becoming pregnant.
So how about if we discuss the issue as related to the real world?
In the real world people aren't supposed to murder or steal either but we don't say it's unrealistic to tell people don't murder or steal.
One difference is, society still frowns upon stealing and murdering. Not so with fornication.
Believe it or not, people can live without sex. Abstinence isn't a fatal disease. What about the GLBT coomunity? Since marriage is illegal for them, how would they honor any vows?
What about people who r not married? Should they live life without sex?
Marriage to more than one woman isn't part of God's plan. The husband should be faithful to one wife, and one only, until death. Those religious men who believe in ploygamy..they r having sex with different women whom they call their wives but still increase the chances of spreading STD's even by honoring their vows to each of their wives?
