You want to find long-lost friend or love? get a facebook. FB does a better job at this and it's not that intrusive at all because it's 100% voluntary.
Great resources for the gold diggers.

there's a difference between censorship and facilitation.
was spokeo set up with facilitate harassers/stalkers in mind? I doubt it.
Spokeo is pretty simple really - if a stalker was really up to stalking, he could do the exact same thing spokeo does, within 30 minutes, max.
all for more reason to close more sites like Spokeo
based on what? They're profiting off lazy people - so... They're successful in their business tactic. If you don't want your information on the net, take it off, and put in misleading information in facebook.
I've got a problem with people profiting on creepy people.
what about bars? Then you would have a problem with all the bars out there?
1. creepy stalkerHowever - I greatly doubt spokeo has that big of a "creepy" customer base, compared to the piracy capabilities of torrents.
I find Spokeo idea very distasteful. It's ironic. The government are cracking down on torrent sites for simply displaying results which hosts NO illegal software/movie/music in its server but they claim it facilitates piracy... so why not Spokeo? It facilitates stalking, harassment, etc.
Just because our information is "out there" in public registry doesn't mean any site has rights to make it much easier for one to look up on people. I don't see any useful purpose for this site. How is it beneficial for public???
I forgot to discuss about this with my law friend. I'd like to see a class action lawsuit on sites like Spokeo and I hope that our privacy law is as stringent as Europe.
I forget, how did you stand on Wikileaks?
Thank you!! I check to Spokeo.com wonderful I like it..There is a site called Spokeo.com that's a new online USA phone book with personal information; everything from pics you have posted on FB or web, your approx credit score, pics of where you live, income, age. Remove yourself by searching your name, find the page of yourself, copy the URL and then go to the bottom of the page and check on the Privacy link to remove yourself. Copy and re-post, so your FB friends are aware!
This site is really scary... too much information...

What is Wikileaks? I have never heard of that before.
Similar to formerly Limewire? Yeah Limewire shut down few months ago.
Wikileaks was a website that published anonymous submissions and leaks of sensitive governmental, corporate, organizational, or religious documents, while attempting to preserve the anonymity and untraceability of its contributors
