Sound and Fury

I'm a psychologist. Duh.

And I don't need anything more that what is so obviously presented. When someone meets the obvious criteria, then they meet the obvious critieria. Period.

And the fact that you seem to be so offended and seek out every single post I make in order to argue on some absurd level speaks volumes regarding your psychological state.

Likewise, it is not just my opinion, but the findings of numerous research studies as well.

It is not for me I am offended. Analyze me all you want, you know nothing about me. What I do find ridiculous is that you believe you have the right to tell oral deaf people that they are wrong and that you know what is best for them.

Get over yourself. Judging from this forum, there aren't any deaf people that need you to be offended for them. I don't think they consider you to be all that helpful to the cause.

And I know more about you than you think I do. You are textbook on several levels.

Nice try at continuing the martyrdom.

Really? Feel free to diagnosis away :laugh2:

My dear, it is my opinion that you need a team of shrinks working around the clock on you. Preferably in Vienna.

Why with mostly disproven theories? Vienna is very yesterday .

Where would you like me to start? With Axis I or Axis II?:laugh2:

That was an actual challenge. If you truly believe that you have enough information that you can actually diagnosis a person from what they write on a message board, then do it already.

I work with a professional and have a dx that is being treated and I have had for many years. Let's go Jillio, let's see if you can back up all the crap that you constantly throw around.

I would venture a guess that your official dx is Bi-polar I and Narcissistic Personality D/O with a rule out on Borderline. The fact that you even felt it was appropriate to issue a challenge was telling.

I don't have a problem backing anything up. However, you definately do. Now, publish your dx online. And we need more than your word. Official documentation, if you please.

Actually, the neo-Freudians are still very popular and have their foundations in Vienna. And Freud's theories have not actually been disproven, but revised according to newer information as it has become available. But, neither was Freud a psychologist, so the revisions on his theories are based on a psychological perspective as well. The contributions he made to modern psychology are innumerable. Nearly every theory in every school of thought has a foundation somewhere to psycholanalytic theory. One of the main reasons that psychoanalytic theory is not used today is that insurance companies push for short term treatment and psychoanalysis is not short term. However, there is a brief psychoanalytic theory that is widely used.

Nope, sorry. Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It is well controlled with medication.

Well controlled is debatable. But again, I'll need official documentation. One can have more than one Axis I and Axis II. GAD does not lead one to make every single thread about them. Eventually, you turn all threads into something about you. Axis II dx would be responsible for that. Just like this one. Sound and Fury turned into a mental health diagnosis for you.

But I don't, so you were wrong. :D

So, perhaps you are the one seeing things that just aren't there.

Prove it. Or is that something that you don't apply to yourself? And no, I am not seeing something that is not there. Trust me, I am not the only one that sees it. Question: were you dx'ed by a general physician or by a psychologist / psychiatrist?

Psychiatrist at the Mood Disorder Clinic at the University of Utah.

Funny. GAD is not a mood disorder. Bipolar I is.

You would have to ask him, I didn't do the diagnosis, he did.

Here's what they say:

http://healthcare.utah.edu/prc/what/index.html

Generalized Anxiety
◦Excessive worry and anxiousness about events that are unlikely to occur
◦Feeling restless, keyed up, or on edge
◦Being easily fatigued
◦Difficulty concentrating or mind going blank
◦Irritability
◦Muscle tension, stomach upset, headaches
◦Sleep disturbances (difficulty falling or staying asleep, or restless unsatisfying sleep)

You would have to ask him, I didn't do the diagnosis, he did.

I don't need to ask. GAD is not a mood disorder. Bipolar I is.

And like I said, I'll need to see your diagnostic narrative. Can't just take your word for it.

University of Utah Health Care What is a Mood Disorder?

Generalized Anxiety

And those same sx appear with Bipolar Disorder I and II.

Anyone can google a disorder and then offer a link as proof that they have that particular disorder. Like I said, you will have to provide proof. Your word is not sufficient.

GAD is not a mood disorder. It is an anxiety disorder. Different classification under the DSM altogether.

But until you offer proof, there is no way for you to support your claim. And to be honest, my continuing this discussion I am feeding into your narcissism and your Borderline features. Not appropriate for treatment.

BTW: the sx you have listed are only a portion of what is used as criteria for a dx.

Too bad, it looks like your ability to diagnosis people you have never met just isn't up to snuff. I hope you do better with actual patients.

Didn't google a disorder, I pulled that from the site of the clinic I attend.

:laugh2: And the generalized anxiety portion that you listed was the generalized anxiety sx associated with BiPolar disorder. You really should have read the link you posted.:laugh2:

So, you went to a Research Clinic for a dx?:P Because your link is to the home page of the research clinic.
