We go from "We are not disabled" to this. The opposite of not disabled is what, not responsible? I voted no, all people except mentally ill are responsible for their actions.

Its so pathetic to use disability as an excuse. *shake my head*
 
I believe she should get the death penalty, no matter if, she is deaf or not. It's all about her crime that she committed.
 
I voted no. For many decades we wanted to be treated as equal and according to the U.S. Constitution, we are all created equal therefore, the laws says we should be treated the same as hearing persons. So, that deaf woman who killed another deaf woman should get death upon found guilty by her peers. I agree the jury should be mostly Deaf and Disabled people. Hard part is that the Court may not know who to called to be on the Jury! That is the hard part. Here in NYS, I know the law is when a person is called for jury duty (was called for last year March but they dismissed me for some reasons I do not know). Anyway, they call U.S. Citzens by picking your driver's license, your voter registration, and/or something else I can not recall. I know there are three ways they call people to jury. By the way, the term, "Called" means they send you a letter of questionnaires first then if they find you are fit for jury, then they will send you a letter to go to court. If you have some medical reasons or health problems or you are unable to attend as a conflict, then they can reschedule you to another date--usually six months or in two years. They delayed mine for two years. For my mom, she was called for jury 2 years ago but she was in hospital having knee replacement surgery. They delayed hers for six months and she was able to attend.

That is awful what this woman did with murdering and dismembering the victim's body. Yuck!

I recalled visiting a court about a deaf man near my home who killed another deaf man. He was found guilty but served 4 years!!?? HUH?? Should receive 25 to life as the state law stated. Deaf excuse I think!

Same with another deaf man in my hometown who raped a hearing woman (a prostitute) and he served just 4 years based on good behavor. Was supposed to be like 8 years. Then all deaf look at him like he was never welcomed in town. So he was "forced" to move to another city and kept secret but I am sure he is registered.

So is another deaf man in my hometown whom I was surprised to see him as a registered sex offender! You can find that website. I forgot what the site name.. Photograph is shown, name, exact location where the offender live.. etc.
 
British guy, I know before I married and live in Germany was sentence to life at around 25 years ago for lit the fire to kill gays disco... Big fire to kill a lot of gays...

Few weeks later after that, he can´t sleep and feel guilty to kill innoncent gays... He got lawyer to accompany him to police station to confess his guilty. The court judge him to life sentence. I don´t know either he still alive or not... He is same age as me now. This thread remind me of British deaf guy. I will check with my British friends about this.


Some of you know that I do not support death penatly...
 
Reason Being be fair trail because court refused allow an interpreter in the trail.. How she can communication w/others likely eg: lawyer, judge and others.. how?

Prevouis since she was admit the murder???, but no an interpreter around her for awful too long.. Isn't fair for her.. Important need gathering information from her through an interpreter.. That what I watching the news.. and stated there's no an interpreter.. Is that fair for her putting into the death..? What if she innocent.. ?? Important key is.. COMMUNICATION AND WANT ASL certificated AN INTERPRETER.. period.. no miscommunication!

until find the guilty.. then next move to excude her..

I vote big NO! if the deaf is mentally stable, and if
found guilty of henious crime like murder, by golly,
he/she should be sentenced to death! No excuse for
deaf at all, period!
 
She deserve to get death sentence as equal to the people. Lawyer just want to win. Luckily, if she's in Texas, she will get death sentence.
 
i vote no.. a crime is a crime.. and if you can't do the time, Don't do the crime.. She should go to jail for her crime.. And using your deafness as an excuse is in poor taste.
 
I am thinking of the victims family and friends how they must feel losing their daughter and a friend. That person who killed deserves a fair trail and punishment for her actions. I voted, No.

Absolutely not. While I personally disagree with the death penalty, I think she should have the same chance at an express-lane ticket to hell as anyone else. If she understands what she did, she deserves equal punishment.

What next, having a bad leg should keep you off death row?
 
I voted no.

What this deaf lady has done is a wilful act of murder and there is no excuse of stopping her getting the death penalty.

Yes right doesn't matter if the person is deaf or deafblind or hearing we all are being treating equal
I went to the Police Station long while ago with deafblind person because this deafblind person was arrested for tried knifed my boss. I can not to giving all those details because it longest story as i had to acted as Relay Interpreter because it does to be very important for this deafblind person have to understand what happen when had to arrested.
