um.... in case you're having trouble comprehending - what you just showed me is the interpretation of criminal charge. So Hasan will be charged with "Death or injury of an unborn child" added to his record.

Meanwhile - it does not support your statement to have the death tally count to 14. You will need to argue with Supreme Court to have a fetus declared as a viable person. She was 6-weeks pregnant.

Problems like these are a world wide problem. Intolerance. People who cant accept other peoples views and then resort to violence. Legal (government backed wars) or illigal (terrorist) they are sometimes the same. Its just the supporters view that differs.

It may be 14 people but the baby wasn't even born yet so...I know abt the law saying they will put in extra charge to anyone who kill a pregnant woman that have the baby inside her as another person who is murdered. The baby is a person yeah but still, most people would say one person even if shes pregnant cause the baby isn't born yet. It is still a very terrible thing that he killed a pregnant woman at the military base.

I understand. Why don't you send a message to NEWS to tell them that is 14.

I agree that they didn't count on baby which i am surprised but they only count on 13 that were presence and alive.

I understand but can we please keep your pro-life agenda out of this? It has no place in here. As far as I'm concerned - until there is law saying that a fetus does count as a person... the official count is 13

Please do not inform people with intellectual dishonesty. Please state the fact as reported by news, government, and law enforcement. If you still want to say 14, then please add a disclaimer to inform us that it is not what the official count says. :ty:

Killing a pregnant woman is a double homicide. For an example in Scott Peterson's case he was charged with killing his wife Laci AND their baby who was still in the womb during the time of murder, so he is currently on death row for double homicide. So it's not uncommon for a double-murder charge to be enforced in cases when it comes to murder of a pregnant woman.

So, I'm with kokonut on this, should be 14 instead of 13.

It has nothing to do with being pro-life or pro-choice, Abortion is a woman's voluntary choice, keeping a baby is a woman's voluntary choice and being killed by a criminal is not a woman's choice. It's homicide.

actually yes it does. As stated by Supreme Court and medical organization, the fetus is not a person nor legally recognized as a person. that's why it's not counted as 14.

Only pro-lifers consider fetus as a "person" so can we please keep pro-life agenda out of this? It has no place in this massacre. Please respect our fallen veteran Private Francheska Velez. Do not politicize her death.

That's where you are wrong there, Many states have vastly differing laws concerning the killing of a fetus. Some states Supreme Court treat any fetus as a living being depends on the embryonic stage. You're the one who doesn't respect Private Francheska Velez's unborn child.

I doubt anyone want their death to be used as a podium... for someone's political agenda, regardless the matter of proper respects. You may see it as a disrespect for the child, but it is also disrespectful to bicker over the gray area.
