San Franciso Banned Bottle water?

LOL! Not to worry ,my city did not use my suggestion . My city is trying to put a ban plastic bags with handles b/c they end in the ocean , I live in a costal city and some people want to ban plastics bottles and bags. California is having the worst drought in years and I think banning bottles water right now is crazy . I hope they thought of way to get water to people if the drought get any worst. I guess people ill have to bring their own bottles or buckets
Well they need to take in consideration, if there is ever a state of emergency, there is no way to provide drinking water as their wont be any plastic containers to hand out ( gallon jugs/quarts or pints of water ) Oh, wait... Hand out beer, beer makes everyone forget their problems...right?

So we cant travel across state lines now with plastic bags? Arrested and Jailed for having ummmm, contraband's ?

LOL! Damn I have not thought of that , I wonder how much fine there would be for this? That funny! I will have to find out if my city is planning on fining people for having contraband's while grocery shopping.

Damn ,when are you going to run for office ! :laugh2:

A couple of years ago a city had a water emergency and all the store ran out of water . I was going home and saw this long line of traffic coming into my small city , people drove about 40 miles to buy bottled water . They where lucky thy did not have ban on bottle water.
Yeah , people do forget this problems if they get drunk enough , they pass out ! LOL!

If their reason for banning plastic bags is litter, people would still litter paper bags, too. Those politicians can't think. :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

sad thing is , paper breaks down in a few days of getting wet, plastics, even bio-degradable's take years to break down.

And it end up in the seafood we eat. I saw something on news about this not too long ago. A lot seacoast cities are trying to put a ban on plastics bags . We I was a kid our grocery was packed in a cardboard box , stores did not break up their boxes they held on to them and the boxes where a lot heavier then so people use it more than one time. Then they could burn it in the fireplace or us kids could use it for a toy.

Aldi's, a groecery store here still uses the boxes...unless you bring or purchase bags from them. When we go shopping there, the first thing I do is hunt for free boxes. If stuff on the shelves ( like 1 bag of chips in a box ) I wil take it out and set it in the next box and take the large empties...lol

I just looked Aldi's and we have a couple store in my state but is too far to away. I do see some people using boxes when they have a pickup truck . The food will not be rolling all over the truck , I hate it when some fool cut me off and I have slam on my brakes and my food goes flying around in my car trunk .

The flying food doesnt bother me, just that gallon of milk.

This is the way our Aldi's operates as well.

Back in the dark ages (1940s & 50s) my mother used to order her groceries from a small neighborhood store that delivered and they would come in a cardboard box.

Banning plastic bags doesn't make sense. There are kitchen bags and trash bags made of plastic. They mentioned those plastic bags as single use. That's false info. We reuse them as a trash bag for food waste, etc. http://blog.swagbucks.com/2011/03/froobi-daily-deals-2-plastic-grocery-bag-garbage-holders.html

Kitchen bags and trash bags are more apt to have garbage in them so they won't be blowing around or getting into rivers, streams, the ocean like single use grocery bags have a tendency to do.

Paper bags break down pretty fast, plastic grocery bags take a long time to break down and even when they are broken down into little pieces they still are polluting the water ways. The garbage patch in the middle of the Pacific Ocean has a lot of single use plastic bags in it. Unfortunately the manufacturers of the plastic bags could of used a cellulose based formula to make the bags but chose not to do so, so they are killing their business with their stupidity.

One problem with the bag bans in CA is the theft rate has gone up especially with stores that have self service checkouts because people are using the carts to carry their purchased products out of the store and aren't ringing everything up.

The flying food doesnt bother me, just that gallon of milk.

My ex husband came home with scrambled eggs once went he got cut off by another driver. That would be a big mess spilled milk and scrambled eggs.

CP these are the bags that getting banned . They get wrapped around birds in the ocean and the birds can't eat or fly and they die and also get stuck in trees and look horrible . The city spend money cutting the bags out of trees in my city , we had one tree that looked like it grew plastic bags b/c there where so many bags stuck on it.

They will do anything in todays world to make an easy pretty penny....

San Francisco is really good at passing fees on to anyone visiting or living in the city. If your going to take your car there you better have brinks truck follow you so you can pay to park. They are also installing sensors in the pavement at parking meters that will tell the meter reader if your car has moved or if you are just feeding the meter. If it hasn't moved, you get a parking ticket.

why would they ticket an un-moved vehicle if you are feeding the meter? Some people shop longer than others?

Maybe there is a time limit on how long you can park in one spot ? There is a 3 hours limits to park in one spot at parking lot in my city. People that work down town will move their to another parking space to avoid getting a ticket .
