San Franciso Banned Bottle water?

California will ban plastic bags next year, too.

My city is trying to save money , and I suggested all city departments stop buying bottles water for all the city workers and let them buy their own bottled water . There is talks of putting a return deposit on water bottles to try and get people to recycle them .

Only the city of Long Beach, CA bans plastic bags because so many people dumped them on the beach and the bags got floated into ocean which became a hazard for fish and seagulls. All other cities outside of LB still allow plastic bags. The stores in LB charge customers for brown paper bags which are optional. Most of them bring their own shopping bags bought from the stores like this. (made of fabric)

The city of st. louis stopped buying bottled water for employees, they quit buying the bottled fountain water too... said they had high quality drinking water right from the tap. But we still didnt see any raises with all that money they supposedly saved????

I don't get it. Why did a city buy bottled water for its employees through taxes in the first place?

So it was you that made all us Laborers in the fields suffer....lol

Some of us didnt have access to water, and during hot weather out in the fields a cooler didnt last long between 10-20 people. We could load cases of water in the van and restock on ice as they were used.
2 coolers, use one, when empty restock and pull second cooler, when second was empty and restocked the first was cold again....just rotation.
Working in Park/forrestry, street department or other departments where you are in the fields all day there was no access to water other than leave the jobsite creating downtime. If it was a small crew of 2 then a cooler would work but a large crew... not feasible.

 MOST people bring their own bottled water to work. I do. My family does, too.

(Whatever happened to your thread about Ferguson residents planning to bring it down (riot) if Officer Darren is not going to jail?)

You better check your bag ban cities in CA. There are 97 cities (including Long Beach) within CA that now ban plastic bags and the legislature is working on banning them statewide.

So we cant travel across state lines now with plastic bags? Arrested and Jailed for having ummmm, contraband's ?

how about shouldn't they have banned soft drinks? - far more of those and these are more toxic and health eroding that clean water. to me, its funny priority.

The City of San Francisco didn't ban bottled water from the city all the time, just the sale of it on city property, events and food trucks that are regulated by the city, which is pretty much all food trucks. You can still bring your own bottles but they would like you to bring it in a container that will not end up in the street or landfill. If you have ever been to SF, you will know that it is a pretty dirty place with a lot of trash being thrown on the ground and left for city workers to clean up after these slobs. Another thing to remember is we are dealing with the SF board of supervisors who have a tendency to go to the extreme to solve their problems. They like using a sledge hammer when a tack hammer will do!

The ban is for merchants giving you a plastic bag when you buy something, if you bring your own it's ok. CA doesn't have bag police, YET! although SF might be considering that too!

They will do anything in todays world to make an easy pretty penny....

Banning plastic bags doesn't make sense. There are kitchen bags and trash bags made of plastic. They mentioned those plastic bags as single use. That's false info. We reuse them as a trash bag for food waste, etc. http://blog.swagbucks.com/2011/03/froobi-daily-deals-2-plastic-grocery-bag-garbage-holders.html

The bag holder can help you save money by reusing free bags instead of buying new trash bags. The Grocery Bag Holder is great for garages, kitchens, laundry rooms, and more

LOL! Not to worry ,my city did not use my suggestion . My city is trying to put a ban plastic bags with handles b/c they end in the ocean , I live in a costal city and some people want to ban plastics bottles and bags. California is having the worst drought in years and I think banning bottles water right now is crazy . I hope they thought of way to get water to people if the drought get any worst. I guess people ill have to bring their own bottles or buckets
