San Francisco Circumcision Ban

Soon people will see no need for circumcision unless there is medical/health reasons.

I have two sons by two different fathers. My first son was circumcised because that was recommended by the family and I just went along with it. My second son, his father forbade the circumcision. He said hell, no, there's no way I am letting a newborn baby go through such a thing. It's HIS penis! Leave it alone! The father was so upset at the idea of anyone cutting off a piece of a newborn's penis for no real justifiable reason. He said "his penis, his choice." And when I thought about how much my firstborn was crying and shaking after his circumcision, I realized that he was right.
So, second son never got circumcised and never expressed any desire to be.

If you are talking about per year for babies then yes but for entire of male population in US, American men with circumcised is still majority and it won't be last longer, probably in several decades for men with uncircumcised to become majority.

U.S. Circumcision Rates on the Decline - NYTimes.com

I am talking about the annual rate. That was a poor attempt at twisting my words around.

then you should state about annual rate in your post at first place before I think it was per annual rate or entire of male population.

No, I wasn't twist your word and your post doesn't have enough detail.

Care to explain why it has 20,000 nerve endings? Why would it have that many nerve endings if it was only meant to be taken away?
I didn't say it wasn't a sacrifice without cost. A cheap sacrifice is of no value. I said it was safe to remove it. That is, a man can live without a foreskin.

Just try to use your common sense, that's if you have any left.

Those stories from the five books of Moses (the law of Moses) are in the Old Testament, and they are the Jewish teachings, not the Christian teachings. In the New Testament, the Jewish beliefs were taken away when Christ came.
No, they weren't taken away. Christ Himself followed Old Testament laws while He lived on Earth.

Yes, Christ was baptized under the Jewish faith when he was a baby.
Baptized? Please define what you mean, and give the reference.

He wasn't in the position at the time. Later, He was baptized by his cousin.
I'm not sure what position to which you refer. Yes, He was baptized by John the Baptist when He was an adult.

Christ's teachings were often in conflict with the law of Moses.
Since Jesus Christ was without sin, He couldn't have lived in conflict with the Law. Some of His teachings and practices conflicted with contemporary custom and teachings by the religious leaders but that's not the same as conflicting with the Law as God handed it down to Moses.

In the days of the Apostles in the New Testament, there are many verses that mention circumcision, but none of them say it has to be done. The Apostles determined that it is not required by the Lord.
That's right because people who became Christians (followers of Christ) didn't have to first be people of Abraham's covenant with God. Salvation by faith was open to everyone, not to Jews only.

I'd say that circumcision is a lot less serious than forced CI, AVT & English-only.

You know how you live without hearing? Yeah, babies live just fine without their foreskin.

It's a slippery slope when you want to dictate other people's personal decisions. It's the same kind of mentality of people who think that Deaf should raise their kids English only or with CI or not have kids at all...same mentality who think that gays need 'fixing' or some such.

As far as Jews and circumcision goes, that's so huge it's not negotiable. Even the 'lost tribes' in Africa - people that were separated from the rest of the Jewish community for 1,000 years - circumcised and kept kosher...long before they had contact with Bantu Muslims.

It's part of the 'covenant'. Jews have regularly practiced circumcision with or without government consent. An exception would have been back in the USSR days as Jews were relentlessly persecuted.

Seriously, if my government told me I couldn't circumcise my children, I'd tell it to go fuck itself.

The vast majority of people who are against circumcision are women who don't have penises and men who have foreskin. ;) Dude, I promise you that circumcised men are not in any way disabled or lacking.
