What I find ignorant is thinkiing Lowe's made any decision that didn't consider the long-term implications as to how they would affect their bottom line. Corporations like Lowe's don't look at how people
feel about things. "Oh look, the Smiths are boycotting!" They look at whether or not they will see an increase or decrease in profits. The emotional reactions are weighted to determine profit, not whether or not someone protests.
- If they think profits will increase by advertising on a show about Muslims, they will advertise.
- If they think they will lose profits by advertising on a show about Muslims, they will not advertise.
They obviously felt that any backlash from their decision to pull the advertisement would not decrease profits as much as staying with the ads. Fair or not, that is the American way, making money.
