That is a common fallacy. Gun control was initiated by Democrats and was racist in nature. They didn't want freed slaves to revolt against their former masters, so they passed gun laws making it illegal for blacks to own guns.

Democrats are still trying to pass gun control laws.

No, I don't think it was common fallacy. The opposition of slavery and support abolition were liberal idea in 1850. The definition of liberal means open to behavior or opinion to kill the traditional value. The slavery used to be traditional value but not accepted anymore.

The gun control laws are part of authoritarian so it has nothing with conservative or liberal. You know about Singapore is very conservative country and they supported gun control laws to make impossible for citizens to have guns, even no self-defense at all.

In US, the gun control laws didn't start in northern and midwestern states until skyrocket of murder rate in 1970s so Chicago and DC tried to ban guns to deter the homicide, but of course, it was failure as murder rate continued to increase until mid 1990s.

Are you in denial and defend the "conservative" word? I think you are arguing about vocabulary, rather than definition.

It means I should defend the "liberal" because they support gay rights and being denial about all problems caused by liberal, probably not.

I'm trying to make reasonable argument, not favor liberal or conservative.

Today, Democratic Party and Republican Party are different from 1850.

Well, I know about you means.

Consider slavery as liberal or conservative, are most disputed claim and that will going be endless argument, even I remember about Jiro used to argue like that before, but nothing to change it.

We should let agree to disagree, also move on. You shouldn't create many threads with controversial topics since Alex knows that will not going be over.

I don't need to be schooled on gun rights from a single sided gun nut! I have no problem with someone owning a firearm. I do have a problem with someone owning assault weapons especially with high capacity magazines.
