Richard Matt And David Sweat, Convicted Murderers, Escape From New York Prison

Usually solitary confinement is staying in cell 23 hours a day I believe. He won't get out of his cell very long while serving his time in prison.

Edit:

Solitary confinement is the practice of isolating prisoners in closed cells for 22-24 hours a day, virtually free of human contact, for periods of time ranging from days to decades. Few prison systems use the term “solitary confinement,” instead referring to prison “segregation.

That wasa given the question is for how long...

Probably a long while. Escapee, high risk inmates (violent, prison gangs) probably stay in confinement for long periods of time. In the link I posted, there is numbers of inmates that spent in confinement for decades.

I know that....ive been in SEG....i meant how long, re weeks, monrhs, yeara, so on

Yes...for sure. But usually its used for violent cons, he was a model prisoner, i doubt it will.be for decades, hes prob in SEG more dor his safety then anything ekse, if reports are true that he burned bridges, and wont be acceoted back in amongst cons in the yard oe range...

Yes, some inmates stay in solitary confinement permanently until death or release.

Well...knew a guy who spent 18 months in solitary...for an escaped attempt(s)...he;s out now,,,but cannot be alone, always needs people around him...

So I'm thinking with Sweat's escape, they are not gonna risk him doing this again...the escape that he and Matt did was really something else...Feel a movie will be made of this story...

or TV show - Breakout.

It should be admired....
Not just for the entertainment value, re movies, so on..
Anyway...

Shawshank prison worker Joyce Mitchell 'changed her mind and decided not to have her husband killed as she dined with him at a Chinese restaurant'
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...husband-killed-dining-Chinese-restaurant.html

This is all well for her defence, and i understand that...she certainly doesnt want to get a conspiricy to murder charge, even though changing ones mins doesnt save you from it. If the state wants you,
Its very important for her lawyers, and her right now, to make sure peoplw, the oress everyone sees her as a victim.and i agree..
I dont want her sent up for a long stretch...
Wether the above is true, or just typical legal manuevering is another thing entirely..

Well....seems Sweat is saying entirely different (about the woman)...Possible that she did change her mind...but still...she aided and abetted this escape....So...feeling sorry or giving sympathy to her at 53 years old...doesn't cut it.....She caused the taxpayers a ton of $$....and putting other people in a position to be killed also...She got the wheels rolling for their escape....

So, she needs to serve time for this (as anyone else would have to do so)...

it won't even if this manhunt never happened.

Does the city set aside money to be only used for hunting escape convicts? I would think the city had better use for 22 millions dollars . And now taxpayers have to spend money to keep the fool woman in jail b/c
she wanted "to feel special" .

Unfortunately, not everything create a equal.

If inmate escape from prison so manhunt will happen at taxpayer's expense.

I think what he meant was that the city wouldn't have money anyway for road repair or school- not that much anyway. Whether or not the city is paying for the manhunt, the city wouldn't have the money anyway... budgets are never as big as they say they are.

Ok , I just hate seeing good money wasted on people like Matt and Sweat.
