Random Vents.....

Just pissed off that those [expletive] kept saying, "i will pay you back when my ssi arrives"..

Let me rewind back: few of them made the bets with me over Detroit Lions vs 49ers (my team). I won the bets from them and expected them to pay up, UNFORTUNATELY, they last minute saying, uhh i forgot my wallet, i dont have money will pay you back when ssi arrive, and all of bull[expletive].

I didnt ask for money but they GUARANTEED that they'll win over me which it got me burning mad. Kept continue trash talk at me and i decided to accept the bet. After game, im upset.

Note to self: DO NOT MAKE BET WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE SSI.

sorry for my blunt vent but thanks anyway :]

Well, the way I see it, if ur on SSI, then how can you afford to gamble?...Then again, I know of one lady that does gamble and she is on SSI...so I said "What"?....I'm not on SSI, and I cannot afford to gamble unless it's penny poker....Just didn't realize that SSI for people can or is used for gambling....what's that telling everybody else who has to work for a paycheck?...Same as for those selling their Food Stamps for drugs...ah well...

Agree. I get ticked on shows like "Hoarders" when these people can fill up their homes with crap they've purchased while on "disability" income.

I want my money back. I've seen people with greater "disability" support themselves. Time to stop living with your hand out, and gambling with MY money!

I understand your vent. I learned my lesson real hard, too.

About 12 years ago, I lent $60 to my friend who was on welfare with a promise that he would paid me next month. He failed to pay me back when I asked him several times. A few months later, another friend informed me that the so-called friend won $500 from playing Nevada card, so I went after him. I told him to pay me now, or I would reported him to the social services. He suddenly panicked and went to the bank with me. He paid me off and I told him not ask me any monetary loan again even $1.00.

What I learned is not to lend any money to people who are on welfare, ODSP or SSI, period.

Speaking of the show, "Hoarders", it cringed me a lot when they showed the house with so many cats on TV commerical a few nights ago. Some of them are in dire need of veterinary services.

^^^Yes, and then they "tear up" when you suggest the cats aren't healthy and should be given up.

I was especially annoyed with one woman who looked so dispassionately while they carried off dead cats she didn't know about. None of them were "her fault". And then the cats are breeding all over the place, without anyone knowing it! Ugh, I have no patience for people like that.

Speaking of Hoarders, when I was a former Sorenson Installer, I visited deaf couple, in the late 60's, their house was filled with boxes everywhere except living room. there are few boxes in living room but it filled in the hall way, family room, bed room.. everywhere. I'm so glad that it's not like "food hoarder", or "animal hoarder" and such... Boxes, I'm fine with that.

ASPCA or Animal cops should rescue the cats from them.

According to the local by-law, pet owners can own no more than five pets. My friend once owned more than 20 cats in her two bedroom apartment. :eek3: Her mother and I stopped by to see her and her bf for a short visit, and it was not a pretty sight. After we left there, I kept scratching almost everywhere on my body cuz of fleas.

A few months months later, she was told to give them up.

I'm pissed off and i'm scared of what would happen next..... I had Order of Protection - but its all dismissed as its my fault ( long story) I was confused and the father's lawyer is pressuring me with questions while i have no lawyer.... anyway. Fri oct 21st.... judge dismissed the OP ( order of protection) and I asked when can visitation starts.. he said now.... but I dont understand why the father didn't see his daughter on that weekend. no show, no communication at all. then boom yesterday something happened...

I was at work. police called my work and asked wheres my daughters at as Rich was with the police and I told them there was no communication and I had no idea that he wanted to see her again yesterday -- I honestly thought will do that after Nov 3rd for modify visitations at court first. sheesh..... so had to have my friend hand her to the father. and i asked him where to meet... no respond until 5 44 pm thats close to 6 pm to get my daughter... that turned me off. he said my house. i said no.. Police station. he said not on court order yet.... ( pissed me off) so i went back home when i was on way to police station cuz we talked partly abt that on friday oct 21st with interpreter and his stupid lawyer. so he was mad cuz my mom was with me... she have the right to get my daughter, as i dont want to argue with him still. he tried to back away from my mom but too late... daughters awake and happy to see my mom ....

now I'm afraid of what would happen this weekend..... cuz he supposed to have her recent weekend.. not this weekend and I know he still won't communicate to let me know he wants her this weekend.... any opinions ????

I don't gamble, period. I went to horse races once, placed some beta but I never got a thrill out of it. I lost a whopping $45 in total that day. I made small $2-$5 bets.

Talk to a shrink about hoarders. Shrinks can explain the mental illness and how these people's brain dysfunction. A shrink also said that medication does not work well for hoarders. Authorities have to step in and deal with the situation when it involves health/safety or animal cruelty. That doesn't mean that these people are undeserving of compassion. Many people who have no experience with mental illness stigmatize people who are mentally ill. There is something biologically wrong with these people. I don't like these reality shows that exploit mentally ill people, either.

Old Navy Girl, you must follow the order signed by the judge. When the order says that the father has possession, you must give him the child. If the order doesn't say that he has possession at a certain time, you may chose to allow him to have the child. Is that hard to understand? If you want to modify the order you have to go back to court and convince the judge to sign a new order. Until the judge signs a new order, the previously signed order controls everything. These orders are pretty standard and you follow the schedule.

I highly recommend leaving your mother out of any interaction between you and the father. It only causes friction. You and the father are adults and you should be able to behave long enough to change possession and communicate about the child. If people continue misbehaving when the child is changing possession, the father can get the judge to sign an order prohibiting other 3rd parties from being present, requiring the trade to take place at a public place, or requiring that the day pick up the child at daycare without you or anyone else present. Do you really want to escalate the situation? It's not what's best for your child.

those people that who made bet with me (im not gambling person and am blue collar person by working so hard to earn money to support my living) is what i will remind them, picking on them to pay me. If they wont, karma is going to take care of that.

yes, i agree with you that lesson to be learn: do not make bet with whoever on welfare, ssi, or whatever with lack of money.

They find dead animals when they clean those houses out, too. Buried under all the stuff. Some have been there long enough that they are just skeletons.:(

Right. They have tried a number of different meds with people with this disorder, from anti-anxiety agents, to SSRIs, to atypical psychotropics. Nothing does much good at relieving symptoms. The key to treating the disorder, IMO, is meds to stabilize while cognitive behavioral type therapies address the cognitive distortions and behavioral issues. It is a lengthy process.

I remember the Hoarders Episode where they found like 4/5 dead cats in this lady's house that had been buried for YEARS.

I can't help but wonder if some mental disorders are self-induced and build up with reinforcement from the families. I've seen shows on young people with Agoraphobia - who are babied and catered to by their parent(s). Don't these things just close up on themselves if left to fester? The less it's addressed, the worse it gets?

Wouldn't the phobic person be better off having to go out and work, or go hungry?

Just like that? The agoraphobic is probably going to starve, unless they figure out a quick way to make a living on their computer and just have everything delivered.

Which is possible with credit cards which is usually a short-term solution for them.

I'm talking about agoraphobics who have been "manufactured", so to speak. I believe there are some true phobics, but I also think some have been created by their environment and allowed to wallow in their own juices.

Where's Jillio?? I can't fight every battle here. :P
