Had the septic tank pumped 2 years ago. It's family not drinking enough and plugging up the toilet. As for showers, MIL thinks it's my hair falling out, but I think you may be right, she just won't do it again.

The best way to clean carpet is a thorough professional steam cleaning by a truck-mounted unit. However, even then, if the original staining culprits had soaked into the pad below, that substance can continue to wick its way upward to the surface after cleaning. That would require a follow-up cleaning.

The cleaner must remove all residue or else that will make the soiling appear again even quicker. Residue removal means the suction must be strong enough to remove most moisture, and all traces of soiling and detergent product. Carpet should feel damp to the touch but not wet after.

This is very old carpeting (18 years) and has been through flooding from the hurricanes that came through a while back. She has a professional cleaner come out yearly, but wants me to use either of my two shampooers in between. I use the spot cleaner (Little Green Machine) weekly and the Hoover Steam Vac every other month.

Sometimes just the burners can be replaced on electric stoves.

We have replaced the burners with no luck. Her stove top is 25 years old and she refuses to replace it.

Ice maker units can be replaced separately from the frig. But if it's not holding the temperature, that's a different, serious problem.

No one will replace the ice maker and it has to be something else, but all the repair guys can't figure it out. After a week of good running, the freezer frosts up big time and we get maybe 1 "dump" of ice cubes a day.

MIL has decided not to put too much more into her house. She wants us to get our first. After that, she will think about the maintenance on hers. She has already been thinking about replacing her carpet with tile floors and has spoken to our contractor about it. He has said he will do it at cost since he is also building our house.

Her A/C she has just about given up on. It never had any good reviews and she admits to going with the cheapest around and now is paying the price.

I know better days are coming. This house is 50 years old and she let the maintenance go when FIL started getting sick. He's been gone 2 years and she's helping us get settled, then she will get back to maintenance.
 
Reba, the neck pain is better. Thanks for asking. It seems to come and go. I'm hypermobile with bone issues. Not a good combo!

Actually, I do have apples and I even ate one. :lol:

It's Friday though, and seems like I should have something fun and not too healthy.

Maybe a BLT will be decadent enough. :P

Vent here...tooo many deadlines that I have to meet within a month. Dont know how I will teach and train everyone about the new cirriculmn, the accrediation, the ice cream party, the IEP that is due on Tuesday which I havent been able to start on yet, and many other little things.

I need to vent. I dont like when folks invade my privacy. AAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!! I feel bedda. :)

I get sad all the time b/c it sucks to be deaf. I feel so hopeless. Oh well! It is what it is. I feel much bedda,now
