Compromise?

:giggle:

Yah, he's realllly great on that one! Superb!! Let's do high 5s on that and celebrate it.

Let's cool it down, okay? :)

This thread is meant to have positive sayings for Obama. If you wish to bash or say such thing about Obama, Please, at least do it in another thread and give the OP some respect, after all, she did take your advice to start a new thread. Let's not derail this one. :)

Kokonut, start a new thread.

Hasn't that already happened repeatedly?

Since I cannot read his posts, I can only assume the links and graphs are being posted. It has become his mission to do whatever he can to critique the current administration, searching for a negative slant. You know, I am tempted to vote for Democrats the rest of my life just to cancel his vote out.

Stay the course since there is no need to make a direct personal comment about him. There is no need to put the lime in and twist it up.

Obama... I like how the name feels. :P It's fun to say... like Nixon.

Thank you. I will refrain from making reference to the other member. I need reminders. I am serious. Appreciated.

I'm glad to have an articulate president. Subject-verb agreement is a huge improvement over the previous president. I like that President Obama speaks to the American people like we are intelligent. I always felt that President Bush spoke down to people with contempt. Sometimes, his speech was just word salad.

I like that President Obama has improved the image of the US abroad. I'm glad that he has opened dialogue with other countries.

President Obama was not my first choice in the primary, although I voted for him in the general election. I'm proud that Americans elected an African American president. It's a huge historic change. I support diversity. I think that he's a good role model for all children. He came from a working class family and achieved a great education.

I think that President Obama took over a huge challenge taking on the disastrous results of the past 8 years and even before that with the repeal of Glass-Steagall Act under President Clinton. I reserve judgment on his overall performance. I believe that he's very intelligent and that he's working really hard. I appreciate that.

I admire about Obama is his intelligent and sense of humor.

Obama is a good model role for family value.

What he did positive for 8 months is:

Obama ordered to close US military prison at Guantanamo Bay in January 2010 and ban torture practices.

Obama repair a damaged relationship, Bush had with Middle East leaders.

Obama got Iran president to free Iranian-American journalist from Iran prison.

Obama loose the restriction on policy with Cuba.

Obama cancel missile defense program in Europe.

Obama is motivate for want to improve America´s country.

Obama is good listen and show his respect to the people.

Obama is working on Healthcare Reform to save/improve people´s life. Sadly he has been compared to Hitler, Stalin, monkey, witch doctor, fake birth certificate, racism, etc. I find sad that some people refused to accept Obama as the president of the USA.

I can see that many Republicans try everything to fail Obama´s job with their misleading, ignorance and lies.

I was neutral on George W. Bush until Iraq war´situtation.

All what I want to say is: Americans are very lucky to have an intelligent President.

Agreed, saywhatkid and Jolie. Balance is the key. It would seem that the problem with achieving balance at this particular time is that the Republican party became overly confortable and confident in their position over the last 8 years. When the American people turned out in droves and elected by a landslide a Dem, the Republican party got a rude awakening, and their comfort level was shaken terribly. They are striving to get back their power and influence, and are coming across as poor loosers. It is difficult to achieve any level of balance when one side is unwilling to compromise.

However, Obama continues to stress bipartisanship, which indicates a willingness on his part. He has only resorted to partisan politics when the opposition has forced his hand. I admire him for his spirit of compromise, and for his resolve when he is forced into a corner.

He's a better person than I am. Personally, I think that it's pointless to attempt any kind of bi-partisanship given the Republicans' no compromise bent.

I'm seriously rethinking my no-voting stance thanks to Kokonut's ceaseless assault on Obama and liberals. I haven't voted for anyone since Clinton's first term.

So far I've noticed some things have slightly improved when Obama became our next president such as our economy is recovering but not completely improved yet so still taking time. Other things as the war in the middle east seems to be less problems in Iraq as far as I could tell but right now it seems we are focusing more in Afghanistan where most of the terrorist organization is held at. At least that part makes more sense than the part in Iraq.

But of course...I hope we can really end the war soon and just take all our troops home safely to their friends and family.

I find that to be a shame. It seems like the country's best interests arent of any concerns to the Republicans.

Sage wisdom.

Thank you for comments, people. That's quite something! ;) I would be glad if you don't make a "Bush vs. Obama" comment in here. Bush is old history, so Obama is our new history. So, let's discuss about him, okay? :ty: :)

Jolie and Calvin, :ty: for stepped in to stop the "dirty posts" here. I appreciate it. :)

I want to say something . . . Just cos someone else attacks Obama and liberals that does not make automatically all conservatives/Republicans/right-wingers are like that.

So . . . Kokonut, I'm sorry to blunt out here... No offense, you are only reinforcing your own stereotype. Why? Personally, I don't think it is very becoming of you to blame Obama for everything under the sun. It makes you look like the "typical conservative zealot" whether you are one or not. You think Obama made liberals look foolish, racists, arrogant, and I don't know what word for the party. Whatever you name it. . . Don't you think so? It'll be understandable if you are going to say, "I'm trying to defend him that would make me look like a "typical liberal (through I'm not a liberal)," likewise regardless of whether or not I am." Provided that I find it funny that you labeled Obama any name/word for trying to point out the good things Obama did in lou of trying to tear him apart like everyone else. . . I'm pretty sure Obama did try to do his best for his country.

But you should realize that I'm not saying everything is Obama's faultless or not. Since a few posters brought up Bush comments, so . . . Personally, I did not care for that bailout Bush did at the end of his term. . . Again, we are at the nation of "Aha, don't just stand there! Do something!" We asked for action, and Bush gave it. If you say Obama is intelligent, well-educated, and charismatic. Well, so is Bush. He graduated from Yale and Harvard, and he gave speeches without a teleprompter. People thought he was stupid because he had an accent, which is prejudice to me. Both Bush and Obama did just try to make anything better for our country. Yes, they did. Bush tried just as hard to hold up foreign relations as Obama is. But, through the barbed wires of the media, everything he did was deemed "stupid," no matter what it was. But when Obama does the same thing, suddenly it is brilliant! Bush was just as compassionate, too. Honestly, I bet on my bid that they want to make anything better for our country. I personally do not think they are different, anyway.

I'm not good at that debating but that is my some rebuttal, here. I share your feelings on politics. . . I hope you could get an idea for looking at other side. :)

Thanks . . . I still feel annoying when people still blame both Obama and Bush . . . =/

I have a Texan accent so that's not an issue for me. I thought that Bush sounded unintelligent because of his grammatical mistakes and poor word choices. Not everyone is a great orator. He was also a legacy that was given "gentlemen C's." That's very different than making it on your own.

I don't doubt that Bush believed in what he did. I just question the wisdom of his decisions. Personally, I believe that he couldn't accept that the world has changed in a fundamental way. It's like the Battle of the Somme in Word War I. The generals kept sending waves of men in to be shot down with machine guns. They were fighting the old way in a war with new technology. With new technologies and terrorism tactics, the world is a different place than it was even twenty years ago.
