and 1979 oil crisis too.

Here paso robles, ca
3.91 unleaded regular
4.00 unleaded
4.11 91 octane
Pretty much close to 5.00 for diesel
I have no problem afford that
But I understand you complaining about gas price I drive 200 chevy silverado 5.3 litre daily

Well, I'd be 107 years old. Who knows? :P

But even if I'm not here, I am concerned about the future for my grandchildren.

That doesn't mean I believe Al Gore. If you think following Al Gore will change the future for the better, then you have been deceived.

Did you see that part of your statement that says, "because of demand/supply issue"? We can resolve the supply issue by using more domestic oil.

That's nice for you but how does that help interstate trucking? How does that help small businesses who depend on gas-guzzling vehicles to provide you with your goods and services?

My Jeep is a used car. Why would I want to buy someone else's problems? This one runs good and is dependable. Another cheap used car instead of my Jeep wouldn't improve my financial situation.

I'm an interpreter. I go where I'm needed, when I'm needed. When I get the Bat Signal, I zip out of the Bat Cave, and drive my Batmobile to the next assignment. I need to be available, so I can't take on a second job. Besides, that would mean more driving, so that would be counterproductive. :)

That still wouldn't solve the problem for truckers and businesses.

Yes, there is. You can support more drilling sites and refineries. :)

For me, I have mixed feeling on drilling in ground and more refineries due environment concern and global warming issue, I believe that it wouldn't give an enough oil, even if run out in earth then it wouldn't work anymore. I rather to goes alternative fuel over oil because of China and India use oil alot and would beat us by consume more oil in next decade. Is it illegal to drilling in ground?

There's something to say, when gas price is cheaper then some Americans would enjoy to waste on oil, such as drive alot, everyday for no reason than others and demand of oil is still increase in USA but decline in Europe. I know it wasn't your fault about gas price, I wish that we need find out to make less demand on oil, such as don't travel alot everyday or something like that but vacation is just other story.

What happen if drilling in ground and add more refineries don't solve the problem on high gas price? You can check out this link from Deaf Mortgage's post #144.

So what benefit is there to leaving the oil underground, unused? None. If it's there, we should use it.

I support using other sources of energy, conservation, and developing better public transportation. Just because I support oil drilling and refining doesn't mean I cross off the other possibilities. :)

In some places. My home owner's covenant states that drilling for oil or mining for minerals is not allowed in our subdivision.

Believe me, even if gas was free, I wouldn't want to spend any more time driving than I do now. I hate commuting and sitting in traffic.

I read the link. It doesn't really address drilling and refining.

It wouldn't effect the prices right away. It takes a long time to build refineries, lay pipelines, set up new drilling sites, etc. But that's why we shouldn't delay. Suppose we are cut off from oil imports next year. If it takes three years to set up drills and build refineries, what do you do for oil for three years?

Also, many of our refineries are very old and need to be replaced. It can't be done overnight, so we need to start now.

If you are concerned about safety and environment, you should support modern refineries to replace old ones that are falling apart.

I means last sentence and other need be separated, I forgot to space the Deaf Mortgage's link to below, it's about Americans are taking big advantaging of cheap gas price because of buy bigger car, such as SUV or big truck for other reason than job and own a bigger house that's far away from city center but I'm not take this advantage, even I don't pointing at you. Not limited to job, SUV and big truck are best for people who live on unpaved road or cities with no road, such as in Borrow, AK.

Yup, I don't like long commute and sit in car for an hours but I did enjoy to drive sometime.

Now, I don't know about what would happen in next 5 years, wait and see.

pacman, oh yes i forgot about 79! yes.. that is right.. ha!

cool!

Call them retarded. Noticed that SUV and cars gas mileage was lowered to 15 to 25mpg after 1990's after all those striving to save gas and better gas mileage in 1970's and 1980's. Then Hummer came to market in 2000.. Interesting. What can we do about it!? They're screwed big time. It's interesting to watch Gas economic cycle become vicious.

LOL
Catty

I noticed that the prices out on the west are higher than here on the East coast. Is that correct?
