Bruce Springteen - Glory Days

Glory Days lyrics

I had a friend was a big baseball player back in high school

He could throw that speedball by you

Make you look like a fool boy

Saw him the other night at this roadside bar I was walking inand he was walking out
We went back inside sat down, had a few drinks butall he kept talking about as,

Chours:
Glory days well they'll pass you by
Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days

There's a girl that lives up the block back in schoolshe could turn all the boys' heads

Sometimes on a Friday I'll stop by and have a few drinksafter she put her kids to bed
Her and her husband Bobby well they split up

I guess it's two years gone by now
We just sit around talking about the old times, she says when she feels like crying she starts laughing thinking about

Think I'm going down to the well tonight and I'm going to drinktill I get my fill
And I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about itbut I probably will
Yeah just sitting back trying to recapture a little of the glory of,but time slips away and leaves you with nothing mister butboring stories of glory days

Jim Brickman, Collin Ray - The Gift

Winter snow is falling down, Childern laughing all around,
Lights are turning on,
Like a fairy tale come true.

Sitting by the fire we made,
you're the answer when I prayed,
I would find someone, and Baby I found you.

And all I want is to hold you forever, all I need is you more everyday,
You saved my heart from being broken apart, You gave your love away,
I'm thankful everyday, for the gift.

Watching as you softly sleep,
what I'd give if I could keep just this moment,
If only time stood still.

But the colors fade away,
and the years will make us gray,
But, baby in my eyes, you'll still be beauitful.

All I want is to hold you forever, all I need is you more everyday,
You saved my heart from being broken apart.
You gave your love away, and I'm thankful everyday, for the gift.

All I want is to hold you forever, all I need is you more everyday,
You saved my heart from being broken apart.
You gave your love away, and I'm thankful everyday, for the gift

Chimes Of Freedom-Bob Dylan

Far between sundown's finish an' midnight's broken toll
We ducked inside the doorway, thunder crashing
As majestic bells of bolts struck shadows in the sounds
Seeming to be the chimes of freedom flashing
Flashing for the warriors whose strength is not to fight
Flashing for the refugees on the unarmed road of flight
An' for each an' ev'ry underdog soldier in the night
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

In the city's melted furnace, unexpectedly we watched
With faces hidden while the walls were tightening
As the echo of the wedding bells before the blowin' rain
Dissolved into the bells of the lightning
Tolling for the rebel, tolling for the rake
Tolling for the luckless, the abandoned an' forsaked
Tolling for the outcast, burnin' constantly at stake
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

Through the mad mystic hammering of the wild ripping hail
The sky cracked its poems in naked wonder
That the clinging of the church bells blew far into the breeze
Leaving only bells of lightning and its thunder
Striking for the gentle, striking for the kind
Striking for the guardians and protectors of the mind
An' the unpawned painter behind beyond his rightful time
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

Through the wild cathedral evening the rain unraveled tales
For the disrobed faceless forms of no position
Tolling for the tongues with no place to bring their thoughts
All down in taken-for-granted situations
Tolling for the deaf an' blind, tolling for the mute
Tolling for the mistreated, mateless mother, the mistitled prostitute
For the misdemeanor outlaw, chased an' cheated by pursuit
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

Even though a cloud's white curtain in a far-off corner flashed
An' the hypnotic splattered mist was slowly lifting
Electric light still struck like arrows, fired but for the ones
Condemned to drift or else be kept from drifting
Tolling for the searching ones, on their speechless, seeking trail
For the lonesome-hearted lovers with too personal a tale
An' for each unharmful, gentle soul misplaced inside a jail
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

Starry-eyed an' laughing as I recall when we were caught
Trapped by no track of hours for they hanged suspended
As we listened one last time an' we watched with one last look
Spellbound an' swallowed 'til the tolling ended
Tolling for the aching ones whose wounds cannot be nursed
For the countless confused, accused, misused, strung-out ones an' worse
An' for every hung-up person in the whole wide universe
An' we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

" TEAR IN HEAVEN" by ERIC CLAPTON

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven

I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.

Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please, begging please.

Beyond the door,
There's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Oh Fk yea. Eric Clapton is awesome. His album 'Slowhand' is very good one. Check it out if you can :)

WOOT WOOT! I have two Paul O versions of Southern Sun, the orginal and the remix.

Ive been told I listen to some strange ass music, I just say no, its interesting music.

Also trance isnt just about beats and computer generated sounds, its about letting go and letting the beat of the music move through you.

Flashdance...What a Feeling - By Irene Cara

First when there's nothing
But a slow glowing dream
That your fear seems to hide
Deep insdie your mind.

All alone I have cried
Silent tears full of pride
In a world made of steel
Made of stone.

Well, I hear the music
Close my eyes, feel the rhythm
Wrap around
Take a hold of my heart

What a feeling
Bein's believin'
I can have it all
Now I'm dancing for my life.

Take your passion and make it happen
Pictures come alive,
You can dance right through your life.

Now I hear the music
Close my eyes, I am rhythm
In a flash
It takes hold of my heart.

What a feeling,
Bein's believin'
I can have it all
Now I'm dancing for my life.

Take your passion and make it happen
pictures come alive,
Now I'm dancing through my life,
what a a feeling.

What a feeling
(I am music now)
Belin's belevin'
(I am rhythm now)
Pictures come alive
You can dance right through your life.

What a feeling
(you can really have it all)
What a feeling
(Pictures come alive when I call)
Have it all
(Pictures come alive when I call)
( call call call call)

(what a feeling)
I can have it all
(belivin' Believen')
Bein's Believein'
(take your passion)

Make it happens
make it happens
what a feeling
what a feling
Bein's believeing
Take your passion

Who Would Have Thought?

Who Would Have Thought? - Darren Hayes
Nobody told you
That a heart is like a deep, deep freeze
So many lies so much of it broken

Nobody told you
Deep within a well so cavenous
That maybe I could shed some light on

Who would have thought
It could be amazing?
Who would have thought
The tiny courageous?
Who would have thought
That love so belated
Could save me
And bring me back to you?

Nobody told you
There'd be days of silence that no one heard
A river swells and overwhelms you

And nobody told you
Deep within a heart so ravenous
That maybe I could spare a beat for

Who would have thought
It could be amazing?
Who would have thought
The tiny courageous?
Who would have thought
That love so belated
Could save me
And bring me back to you?

I had to find you, had to let you know
That you aren't all alone, yeah
We didn't make the rules
I had to find you, had to get right back
To you

I had to find you, had to let you know
That you aren't all alone, yeah
We didn't make the rules
I had to find you, had to get right back
To you, it's always been you

Now tell me

Who would have thought
It could be this amazing?
Now, who would have thought
The tiny courageous?
Tell me, who would have thought
That love so belated
Could save me
And bring me back to you?

Where You Want to Be - Darren Hayes

Where You Want to Be - Darren Hayes (this is a rare unreleased track)
Hey there stranger
Do you remember?
You were a part of my life
Early December
Think I remember?
Sentiment cuts like a knife
The seasons are changing
Life's rearranging
Full of good times
Would have beens
Its all your fault
And whereve you been
And how time goes
And though I dont even know
How to fill in the spaces
of the love youve erased in my life

Are you where you wanted to be?
Did you get there easily?
Did I make you sacrifice?
Did you make a sharp left
When you should have turned right?
Are you whereyou wanted to be?
Did you sell off all your gold
Did you trade it in?
Did you wait for love
Or settle for somebody to hold?

And barely symphonic
But strangely ironic
Moments contained in one glance
Oh how i adored you
But now im ignored by you
Nowhere a tint of romance
And now its vaguely familiar
i think i remember sharing every single intimacy
It doesnt seem so strange to me that we barely entertained
Even the politest of phrases
But sometimes at night
I conjure you up in my mind

Are you where you wanted to be?
Did you get there easily?
Did i make a sharp left
When you should have turned right?
Are you whereyou wanted to be?
Did you sell off all your gold
Did you trade it in?
Did you wait for love
Or settle for somebody to hold?

While I was busy
Perfecting the art
Of deflecting compliments
I took it too far
And i let a ripple run right through my heart
Of battle stations we're building
You and i just grew apart
We grew apart

While i decided
To make everyone else happy
i just put aside
My foolish pride
I guess I denied
My own desire
I was too busy pleasing
To ever be pleased
I forgot how to breathe
Or question anything
Or ask why?
Am I?

Am I where I wanted to be?
Did i get here easily?
Did I make a sacrifice?
Did I take a sharp left
When i should have turned right?
Am I where i wanted to be?
Can i sell off all of my gold?
Can I trade it in?
Will I wait for Love
Or settle for somebody to hold

I'd settle for somebody to hold now

You know that ive been up and ive been down
ive been picked up and spun around
id do it all again
if i could just have somebody to hold now
I just need somebody to hold now
Could somebody hold me now?
I just want somebody to hold me now
I'd do it all again

"hand to hold onto" by john cougar mellencamp

You can laugh and joke and make fun of your friends,
Spin in the middle when your troubles begin,
Take it nice and easy and always pretend
That you're cool.........so cool..........so cool.

Say, "i'm gunna hold onto that a while and i will and i'll be tame",
Talk like a jerk on an educated brain,
Be an old girl drivin' the young boys insane,
Be a joker, a preacher....it does not matter.

Chorus:
Everyone needs a hand to hold on to
Everyone needs a hand to hold on to
Don't need to be no strong hand
Don't need to be no rich hand

Everyone just needs a hand to hold on to

Havin' good luck with your financial situation,
Play the ponies, be the president of the united nation,
Go to work and be a hollywood stand,
Drive your 4 wheel drive right into the mud, but

Repeat chorus

And in those hours when you're alone,
And there's nobody there except yourself,
I know it.........you wanna pick up the phone,
And say, "talk to me, talk to me, somebody please
Talk to me!" yeah!

--Guitar solo--
Ohh, yeah!
Chorus

Repeat chorus

Collin Raye - Not That Different

She said we're much too different
We're from two separate worlds
And he admitted she was partly right

But in his heart's defense he told her
What they had in common
Was strong enough to bond them for life

He said look behind your own soul
And the person that you'll see
Just might remind you of me

I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you

She could hardly argue
With his pure and simple logic
But logic never could convince a heart

She had always dreamed of loving someone more exotic
And he just didn't seem to fit the part

So she searched for greener pastures
But never could forget
What he whispered when she left

I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you

Was it time or was it truth
Maybe both lead her back to his door

As her tears fell at his feet
She didn't say ";I love you";
What she said meant even more

I laugh, I love, I hope, I try
I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry
And I know you do the same things, too

So we're really not that different, me and you

Collin Raye - That's my story!

I came in as the sun came up
She glared at me over her coffee cup

She said where you been, so I thought real hard and said,
I fell asleep in that hammock in the yard

She said you don't know it boy but you just blew it

I said well that's my story and I'm stickin' to it

That's my story, that's my story
Well I ain't got a witness I can't prove it but
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it

Well I got that deer in the headlights look
She read my face like the cover of a book, and said
Don't expect me to believe all that static
'Cause just last week I through that hammock in the attic

My skin got so thin you could see right through it
And I started that's my story and I'm stickin' to it

That's my story, that's my story
That's my story, that's my story
Well I ain't got a witness I can't prove it but
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it

You know time comes when a wise man knows the best thing
That he can do is just look her up in the eye
And beg for mercy and face the bitter truth

Well honey me and the boys played cards all night
Wasn't no hanky panky not a woman in sight

And I know I shoulda called and baby I'm really sorry
Let's get a cellular phone then you won't have to worry
You know how much I love you and darling I'm ready to prove it
And that's my story and I'm stickin' to it

That's my story, that's my story
That's my story, that's my story
Well I ain't got a witness and you know I can't prove it but
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it
You know I ain't gonna do a thing
Unless you approve it and
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it

(GUITAR SOLO INTRO)

ooh-hoo, jackie blue

lives her life from inside of a room

hides that smile when she's wearin' a frown

ooh jackie, you're not so down

you like your life in a free-form style

you'll take an inch but you'd love a mile

there never seems to be quite enough

floating around to fill your lovin' cup

ooh-hoo, jackie blue

what's a game, girl, if you never lose

ask a winner and you'll prob'bly find

ooh jackie, they've lost at sometime

don't try to tell me that you're not aware

of what you're doing and that you don't care

you say it's easy, just a nat'ral thing

like playing music but you never sing

ooh-hoo, jackie blue

making wishes that never come true

going places where you've never been

ooh jackie, you're going again

(GUITAR SOLO)

ooh-hoo, jackie blue

lives a dream that can never come true

making love is like siftin' through sand

ooh jackie, it slips through your hand

ev'ry day, in your indigo eyes

I watch the sun set but I don't see it rise

moonlight and stars in your strawberry wine

you'd take the world but you won't take the time

ooh-hoo, jackie blue

lives her life from inside of a room

makes you think that her life is a drag

ooh jackie, what fun you have had

ooh jackie, ooh jackie

ooh jackie, ooh jackie

hey, hey, hey, hey

Don Henley and Glenn Fery - Desperado

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now.
Oh, you're a hard one,
but I know that you've got your reasons.
These things that are pleasin' you
can hurt you somehow.

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy!
She'll beat you, if she's able.
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet.
Now it seems to me some fine things
have been laid upon your table,
but you only want the ones that you can't get.

Desperado, ah, you ain't gettin' no younger.
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home.
Freedom, oh, freedom. That's just some people talkin'
You're a prisioner walking through this world all alone.

Don't your feet get cold in the wintertime?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine.
It's hard to tell the nighttime from the day.
You're losin' all your highs and lows.
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate.
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you.
You better let somebody love you
before it's too late.
